Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
I finally took a look at the wiki a few days ago because for the life of me I couldn't find the first bonfire in Tomb of Giants, and this is what I found out about the Darkwraith.
SpoilerYou must beat the boss Four Kings before placing the lordvessel to join the convenant. Which kind of sucks because I wanted that stone that would let me invade whenever I want.
I kind of missed out on that for this playthrough. But that boss was whooping me anyways.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
I'm in a happy place right now. I have my Furysword to +5, my Lightning Winged Spear to + 5, and just created the Moonlight Crystal Shield. All in the span of 30 minutes.
Granted, took hours to get all of the above, but just reached those levels for each in my last 30 minute session. Very rewarding. Spirits are high folks!
Now that I am happy and over-confident, I expect to get absolutely massacred by a normal enemy as punishment for my cockiness. This game tends to do that . . .Comment

Once I do enough soul runs in Darkroot to the point I feel comfortable enough that I don't feel underpowered I'm off to Anor Londo. Also gotta get the damn spear before I go to.HELLO BROOKYLN.

Where did you get all your large titanite shards from? I'm trying to create the furysword, I have my scimitar up to +7 but I've ran out of the large shards.I'm in a happy place right now. Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
There's a merchant near the top of Sen's fortress who sells them. You can farm the enemies close by for about the price of one large shard.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Balder Knights drop them, there are 5 easily accessible in Undead Parrish from the bonfire by the smith on the way to Sen's Fortress. They are the ones with the cape, one is on the other side of the rickety bridge that is easily backstabbed (his back is to you coming from Sen's Fortress) then inside the church there are three by the front door and one up the stairs.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
the 15 or so Blighttown leeches near the Great Hollow entrance/Bonfire are great farming spots for Large titanite shards and green titanite shards. Sometimes they drop green titanite in 5 stacks. Get that ring that increase drop chances and you'll get the shards needed in no time.
Also, someone tell me how ANNOYING those two Silver Knight archers in Anor Londo are.HELLO BROOKYLN.

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Really good news to me. I'm so happy that the Giant Blacksmith sells twinkling titanite now so that I can finally upgrade some lighter armor, instead of wearing this super-heavy crap.According to Siliconera`s translation of the Japanese patch notes, the patch will resolve problems with multiplayer matchmaking, which often left players unable to summon assistance.
Many of the game's freezing issues have been countered, as has the duplication exploit, several bugs which could trap the player's character, and a nasty attack delay. Defeating bosses will now award the correct amount of souls, and some bosses will also now also drop humanity or Homeward Bone items.
A number of specific abilities and equipment pieces have been tweaked, including magic shield, great magical shield, Iron Flesh, Pyromancy Flame, Tranquil Walk of Peace, and Ring of Fog; this last has been heavily criticised in the multiplayer community, as it reduces visibility and prevents lock on.
Balancing fixes include drop rates, equipment weight, and souls earned. Cracked Red Eye Orbs have been modified so they won't be consumed if an invasion fails for any reason.
Shopkeepers have been given a once over, giving players access to useful items like the Bottomless Box and Smithboxes in multiple locations. More merchants will carry arrows of various types including the cheap standard arrows.
The patch brings the PlayStation 3 version of the game to 1.04, and is expected any moment now.
I don't have enough patience or even know where to farm for items.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Haven't quite finished yet, and someone else could probably help you out more, but...
-It plays like Demon's Souls. The boss fights in my opinion have been easier overall, while getting to the boss fights has been harder, IMO.
-If a boss you face has a tail, try to cut it off before killing them.
-You will constantly have many different ways to go. If given a choice, go up rather than down, because in every case I can think of it was the less punishing way to go (especially through the first half of the game).
Don't want to spoil anything else. Have fun.Last edited by CC; 11-02-2011, 07:44 PM.Comment
