Word of advice to people, use your follower as a pack mule. Give them crap to carry, it doubles your carrying capacity. Just make YOUR character don't get overloaded, because if you do, you can't fast travel.

Your follower can carry as much as you can. I totally cleaned out this Dwarven dungeon and Dwarven storage facility. Their stuff is heavy but damn it if it don't bring in a ton of gold when you sale it.

The mission Blood on the Ice just glitched out on me and now I can't complete it.

It told me to go talk to someone, I talked to them, I selected the appropriate dialogue option, then the game didn't register that I talked to him.

And the dialogue option went away.

So... I guess I'm stuck. Guess I'm not doing that one. That kind of sucks.

I'm really enjoying how different some of the quests are. I did the Abandoned House quest yesterday and that was a little creepy. I also did a couple more Thieves Guild quests. The "bee home" was pretty sweet, though I love that you can do illegal bookkeeping in this game.

At what point in the main quest do you start seeing dragons all over the world-Dragon Rising?

It has taken a lot of work but Frosty is still alive for me. I figured all horses in the game were crazy aggressive like him, that's cool that he's not. I've only had two other horses. The first one I stole from a bandit, but lost him almost immediately when I got off to kill something. The second horse I had I killed within 30 seconds when we fell off a cliff. Frosty has been around for a long time, I'm attached to him now. I was afraid I lost him last week when I was arrested for breaking into a shack on the outskirts of Markarth. I couldn't find him when I got out of jail or when I fast traveled to Whiterun and Riften. He was at the stables the whole time though *whew*.

                Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I think I'm going to restart tonight. As much as I enjoy the world and the quests, I'm not happy with my character for some reason. Iin the early levels I didn't take advantage of training or doing the odd jobs. Plus, I feel like my character is a part of too much. He's in the Thieves Guild, he's a Companion, and a Dark Brotherhood member. I just feel like he doesn't have a legit story or enough...restrictions to be a character I can roll with. I think my problem is that I'm only running with one character, so of course he gets all the exploration and guild stuff. Now that I have a grip on a lot of things, I feel like I can make a better, stronger character.

Anyway, I'm going to try and make "rules" for my characters so that way they don't get too broad, so to speak. Are you guys using any guidelines for your characters? I was thinking of limiting each character to two guilds (Thieves, College of Winterhold, Companions, Dark Brotherhood, Imperial Legion/Stormcloaks, Bards College, Blades) ,"focusing" on 5 skill sets, and picking one job (smithing, alchemist, enchanter). What do you guys think?

I want to roll with a Wood Elf again and keep the archer/stealth aspects. I also want to roll out with a full mage and a heavy armor battletank.

                  Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I have done the College of Winterhold and am currently doing the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood for my High Elf Destruction Mage.

I will not do the Bards college nor the Companions quest lines and i am staying out of the Civil War till I finish both of the guilds I am currently working on.

I have a character that has a dark side. I just got married yet my wife has no clue a how evil I can be via the Thieves and Dark Brotherhood quest lines.

"Moses" is torn. He is the Archmage but a deadly destruction mage with thoughts of pure evil. Yet in certain situations he has a soft heart. He has a high disdain for the Storm Cloaks who hate the elves. He also though is not trusting of the Imperial Legion as they wanted to take his head off at the start of the game.

I have dabbled on the dark side and I continue to go down that path for now.

Of course I am doing the main questline as well and trying to rid the relm of Dragons.

So yes.....I am not going to do all the Guilds with my first character build.

I would like to keep the Bards, Civil War and Companions quest for another character on my second play through.

I'm sticking to just two guilds right now, Thieves and Dark Bros. There's always time to go back and do others down the road.

Definitely. My main is a Dark Elf rogue, doesn't use magic at all so no need for the Mages guild. She's not a fan of the Companions' lifestyle so I didn't join them. Completely uninterested in the Civil War so chose no side and will choose no side. The whole Dragon Born things is interesting but she's in no hurry to save the world so that quest line is progressing pretty slowly.

Theft and a little murder for hire is right up her alley (it's how I explain her getting caught at the beginning of the game) so I went for the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. Perks are focused mainly on Archery, Smithing, One Handed and Sneak with the rest spread out as needed.

Man I'm loving the College of Winterhold storyline. I'm just glad I didn't start it earlier because these mages are beasts. I've also decided that Nocturnals going to have to wait a LONG time before she gets her skeleton key back (it's so convenient).

Cool. Pretty much how I want to play it, though I didn't even think about why I was getting ready to get my head chopped off, haha.

My whole idea is to do some type of blog Skyrim story. I have "etched" out 3 characters to start over with. Should be fun.

That is the beauty of Skryim.....it is so many guilds to join that everybody play through will be different. The only thing I joined was the Winter College and now when I walk into places, people treat me different and say stuff like get out of here you mage.

Hell I just made it to Riften last night LOL. Haven't been to Solitude yet, early on I made the mistake of just doing the main story line and before I knew it I completed 8 quests of it and haven't discovered anything other then Riverwood, WhiteRun, Graybeards and WinterHold.

Seeing how hard it was doing the College of Winterhold quests, I decided to take a break and just explore. Don't have a skeleton key, horse, house and am on my 3rd follower, 1st 2 died.

So far I am staying true to my battle mage character. He likes Dwarven heavy armor and bashing people with his Dwarven war hammer, but yet he burn you or freeze you to death as well.

Gave my follower some elven armor, so now both of us walking around looking like some high rollers LOL.

I went the way of a Paladin type. Some focus on the Restoration & Alteration magic with heavy armor, shield & one-handed weapon. Sometimes switching into dual wielding.
