Only just got to character creation but so far silky smooth... we'll see what happens after.

I know I was hit up for a Catalyst driver update yesterday (probably in preparation for this release)...so I'm guessing not.

      Installing now.

What a disaster! I got it, but I got pulled over by a cop on the way over (headlight out), the guy ahead of me took FOREVER, and they didn't accept me pre-order. Oh well, I have the game now. Time to see if it was worth it

Oh boy, this could take awhile....Steam is downloading something Skyrim related and the Steam servers are getting shellacked. It's saying it'll be ready to play in around 7 hours. Oh, I see now...despite me having the disc in the drive, it's trying to download the whole damn 5 GB game. Fantastic.

Any suggestions for getting it to actually install from the disc so I can maybe play tonight?

One gripe I have so far:

PC menu controls are too consolized. Keyboard navigation works better than the mouse, which is fine, but the fact that it takes precedence is a flaw (IMO). Also, has anyone else figured out how to change the camera distance when in 3rd-person view? Has this been taken out since those preview videos a few months ago?

tronbinson: Try turning of FXAA. I had mine switched on and it would suffer

slow-downs every now and then. Switched it off and it's smooth running. running on Ultra settings.

The middle mouse button adjusts the 3rd person view for me. I am playing on Ultra and the game is stunning t look at!

Thanks! Will try to post a screenshot or two just for kicks.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of variety in faces when creating your character? Even with my customizations, he still looks like one of the preset faces. I really wanted to be an elf too but I found them to look a bit too lizard-y.

What are your specs and what settings in game are you playing on? This is irritating.

Figured it out...but this is going to be a pain in the *** for the less computer-savvy.

In addition, the run command didn't even work for me so I had to go into the command prompt, change directories and run the installer from there. Fun stuff.

It's definitely installing now though, from the disc this time.

In less than a minute so many thoughts went through my head. From panic, to what will I do for 7 hours while I download the game instead of the discs, to relief.

                        Thanks for sharing...bookmarked it.

Also on PC people say all the same console codes work.
                            Is it DX11?
