A couple of questions, How do you gallop on a horse?

Combat is a lot harder in this game.

Did it work? If so, I'm definitely going to try it this evening here in Athens.

This game is fantastic so far. By this point I hung up oblivion. Way better and way less stiff and dull. Dragon fights...amazing.
This reminds me of Fallout 3 where I'd give companions unique weapons only for them to get them broken or lose them. Really annoying.

I've been reading, and apparently some feel the UI for the PC feels like a bad console port. Anyone on PC care to give your opinion on the UI(those not using a controller).

I have zero issues with it.. It's very smooth and IMO very "friendy"
Now I do use the gameboard so everything is mapped to where I want it.
In any case I have no problems with it. Few quick clicks here and there and I have what I want. I just got back into PC gaming so maybe those that never left it can chime in but I see no reason for complaints personally.
One thing that they may be seeing is you can't (at least I haven't been able to) hot key potions etc to certain buttons (ala Diablo etc..) BUT you can set them up as favorites and when you hit your favorite button everything you have listed as a favorite is in there...then you select it.
So basically you can't just hit the #1 for health potion...

                  BUT:
The manual says buttons 1-8 are hotkey buttons so I'm sure I just haven't figured it out yet.

Once you get use to it, it's not that bad. My one major grip is setting a custom marker on the map to remind me where I want to go next. For some reason, I can't place it on a city/village. Just doesn't work. I have to place it slightly past where I want to go. It's pretty annoying when you have completed a quest and need to deliver an item to someone. Everything else so far I can deal with.

Thanks for the input, I'll have to see it how the UI feels first hand later. On the plus side, if it is a problem, you know there will be a mod for it soon.

Yeah you can set quick keys to items in your favorite menu.. Trying to figure out how now. Plus I bet the map stuff will get fixed via mod.

                            EDIT: Book is wrong
                            Correct way:
just hit Q to bring up favorites... highlight what you want to hotkey to numbers 1-8 and hit the button you want it keyed to..
I have my fire magic and shield on 7 and 8 respectively. So I can easily switch between them

The rest I have heals and magic mapped to.. WOOT!
                            Thanks for bringing this up

I absolutely cannot wait to get home and dive into this game. I got It last night and let like the first 10 minutes play out and I had to shut it off or I never would have mad it to work this morning.
