    Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

What I love/hate about this game is this:

I logged on last night specifically to continue my Brotherhood quest line. But first I had to sell a few things, then I bought some ingredients from the alchemist....so I had to goto my house and unload all my ingredients. I had so many I decided I should create some potions, learn what the new ingredients did, etc.

1 1/2 hours later I finally got to continue my quest. "Housekeeping" sometimes is a game all in itself it seems.

Wow, really? I've been focusing on Stamina primarily, with a little into Health and nothing into Magic. When my Orc two-handed warrior takes a swing, the enemy feels it.

Same. I could see how a mage wouldn't want much in the way of stamina but if you are a melee weapon user of any kind I would think stamina would probably be the most important of the lot.

Same here (2h Orc), I focus on health more than stamina, but I'd say I go about 2:1 health:stamina. Not only is it nice being able to run when needed, being able to run into a large group and one shot the lot of them is awesome. It also helps against mages since I can run quite a distance and get them with a power shot.

Had the toughest fight of the game so far, a big room full of Draugr. It was 1 Draugr boss, 2 deathlords, 4 overlords, 3 scourge, 2 wights and 4 regular Draugr. Such a pain, and to make things worse Lydia wasn't around to distract some since she had gotten caught up somewhere early in the dungeon. I made it finally after about 6 tries.

This makes sense. The only thing I could think of a mage using stamina is to GTFO and RUN!!!

I don't know, maybe I just play differently, but even wielding two handed weapons I haven't found much use for stamina. I just one shot a few characters and then switch over to magic.

Do you do the power swings? I found when my stamina was low I could only literally get one power swing in then my attacks were too weak to do much damage. If I missed that one big swing i was in trouble!

Same here. Really helps when you have a ton of items to carry especially Dragon bones and scales. That along with the multi enemy fights, the stamina drops pretty fast. Glad I pumped up stamina early and often.

Ugh....I am constantly backtracking for Lydia.
She's worth it though for the most part. She deals some pretty good damage and also gives me some latitude with some long range bow shots. It really helps to bring down dragons.
Plus, she's not bad to look at! Even in an Imperial Steel Helmet!
