Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Going through Oblivion again....has brought a question to me.
I went to the Arena and became Champion.
My last fight was to fight the Grand Champion...he gave me a quest first and I completed it for him and went back to him
SpoilerNow.....I found his fathers journal and brought it back. He was so upset by it's contents that he wouldn't fight me in the Arena and wanted me to slay him. A message popped up about an unseen force seeing my slaying. Should I have let him live?(can you even.....just walk away?)
Thanks..
M.K.
Knight165SpoilerIf I'm remembering right, that's just the way it ends. Since you did his quest he no longer wants to live and you don't have to fight him to become the Champion. I don't think you can walk away. That message about the being "observed by the unseen force" happens the first time you kill somebody that is not hostile toward you. It is the beginning of joining the Dark Brotherhood. Rest and you'll start that quest line.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

I didn't do the Arena last time though, so it must have been when I killed someone during a quest(by accident maybe)
SpoilerYou don't have to do the Dark Brotherhood branch of the game, correct? I wouldn't be missing anything tied to the main plot if I decline, right? I'm pretty sure I just ignored it last time.
Now, I'm really going through the game quickly this time, but it's so obvious that with a few years for development, Skyrim is going to be tremendous.
I hope it's like Darkfall(sans the bugs!) as that was an AWESOME game for it's time(once it was patched to death).
That game map was HUGE.(I doubt Skyrim is going to be that big....just saying....side quests and loot quests were abound in Daggerfall)
Thanks.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Really pumped about this game! Thought about picking up oblivion or even replaying Morrowind to hold me over, but I think I'll just wait to make it that much sweeter. Still havent decided whether to get console or PC version though.Texas. Football. All. Day.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I never said Oblivion was going to be better. I said if it's half the game it looks like I will never look at it Oblivion again. So I wasn't saying that if it was half the game Oblivion is (it will be without doubt much better), I was saying if it's half the game it looks to be, which is already far superior to OblivionComment

The previewer stated among other things...
-better combat system....gone is the clunky, jerky combat....smooth as butter.
-no more behind the scenes random die rolls overseeing combat....what you do(ability related) is what you get
-perks to the leveling ala Fallout 3
-new graphics engine!(and Oblivion looked pretty nice to me)
just to name a few.
