You mentioned the hotkeys, I'd imagine it's like fallout? 1-8 on the keyboard isn't a whole lot given the shear number of spells, items and such. What exactly is the favorite menu anyway?

You can "tag" any weapons, spells , potions etc.. as "favorites".

Then you can hit 1 button to bring up your favorite menu which just shows those you tagged. Then if you want you use that screen to hotkey them to 1-8.

      Mine is:
      1 Heal potion
      2 Heal magic
      3 Magic potion
      4 Fireball scroll
      5 Spark magic
      6 Battlecry
      7 Shield (Left hand)
      8 Fire magic (left hand)

So I can easiliy switch from shield to fire magic or vice versa with a quick tap of 7 and 8.
I could put tow rh weapons in favorites and easily switch between them the same way. Saves from having to go into inventory and switching them

using the gameboard even makes it that much easier.

        Pretty much that
No doubt this is the post of the thread thus far.

        Love it dude.

Funny and true story. I went through a WoW faze when it first came out some years back and I would play with my headphones on with an endless loop of Iron Maiden and Dio jamming.

        E P I C. To say the least. Fun times...till I realized people lived in WoW...then i had enough.

Going to pick up this bad boy today and dive in to my character creation this weekend....I can't wait. But I must resist going any further till Batman AC is done. Must resist.......getting weak.

Thanks, it sounds like it works like fallout, with the favorite menu being a new addition. Still, it's weird they don't let you use as many hotkeys as you want though.

Now my only concern is that I can run the game with no issues. Some people are having what looks like driver issues, and it's running well below what it should for their specs. New Vegas also had a weird graphic glitch that caused some serious stuttering and it made the game unplayable until a fix was found.

Yeah it worked. Got out of there for just shy of $90 for the game and collectors edition guide. Played till about 5am and took a quick nap and back at it!!! Just shy of level 6 with Conjuration and Destruction quickly rising.

I changed mine up... I'm now set up via hotkeys to easily go from
              Shield/Weapon
              Magic/Weapon
              Two handed Weapon
or even magic in both hands.

Then the rest are health and scrolls

                      Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Was trying to figure out why I kept dying to small fry in the first story dungeon. Turns out I was using up all my stamina on early power strikes. I remember on Oblivion I could just swing away for the most part - not so here. If that green bar goes out you'll find yourself in nearly as much trouble as being low on health.

Make sure you're prepared before entering - those guys can surround you and hand you your *** on a platter when you're at very low levels. I went in thinking I'd be okay with the equipment I got from the tutorial area - I barely managed to escape with my life, using my entire stock of potions to do so. I could have just reloaded a save, but I did want to keep the levels gained from fighting them.

Had a weird glitch while approaching that dungeon - near a tower in the area - the game all of a sudden lost many of the building's textures. After a few minutes of this, it CTD'd. I reloaded the game and everything was fine, so hopefully it was one of those perfect storm - one-time deal kind of bugs.

Okay, I'm done for awhile...time to get some rest.

Haha, I quick saved like a mofo in fallout. Literlally every few seconds I was quicksaving. It became a habit, kind of like reloading after only firing one shot in an FPS.

Runs really good...played about 5 hours now and haven't had any slowdowns or anything. I have seen that texture issue at different points though.i have tried the game both installed and running off the disc. It seems to happen either way. I'm curious to see if anyone else is seeing this? It's nothing game-breaking but just more of an irritant.

For instance..while in 1st person my Aragonian hands look awesome but sometimes after going to the menu and coming back the textures on the hands are not as clear. There really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it?

As for already getting to level 6, it's all about raising almost every person or creature I kill to be my animated corpse, eating every item I come across or sneaking as much as I can. I went up 3 levels just by going through that "mission" that was in all the demos that the media got to play.

Really lookin' forward to hearing peoples reactions!!!

6 hours in with 2 characters. First was a thief, but then I decided I wanted to play a Nord with a 2h Greatsword for my first playthrough.
