Very cool you posting this reminded me.

I spent about half a day trying to figure out a load order that worked and looked even better than this original video:

I'll post a blog for it soon

I bought this game again on Black Friday, and I'm so glad I did. Forgot how addicting this game can be.

Playing around with the mods is fun, too. I think the weather mod I downloaded changes the sky, too, because playing at night is AWESOME now. Huge moon in the sky, tons of stars, Northern lights. Really cool.

Last time I had the game (like 5 years ago) I was an elf, focused on archery and magic. This time I'm an Imperial, going for more of a hack-and-slash character. Focusing on one-handed, blocking, and two-handed.

alternate start is just that a new start Im not sure HOW much you can do to character face customization but app you can decide where to start your game like say automatically in white run etc

immersive citizens i heard was good HOWEVER it might cause crashes

faster leveling is cool cuz you dont have to spend so much time grinding but you can still enjoy the exploring

as of right now skyrim (with these mods) is better than ff15 even for me. much more immersive world and i PREFER a modern setting ala watch dogs 2 say but there's no denying just how great skyrim truly is even now

theres a reason gamers and non gamers love skyrim and these mods make me see it more now

In the immersive citizens mod it says that the errors are not thiers. Its the game itself.

Are you guys saying there is a certain order to load mods? I am new to adding mods to games, the first game I played with mods was Xcom2.

It would matter in XCOM 2 as well. You may just not be using that many mods or none of them are trying to alter any of the same files. With Skyrim and other Bethesda games, mods are loaded from top to bottom. Mods that come before can have their files and records overwritten by those that come later. Not all of these are critical conflicts though and you do sometimes want certain mods to overwrite others.

On PC you have powerful tools like LOOT to help sort the load order, TES5Edit to drill deeper into and fix conflicts and to create a merge patch, and Wrye Bash to create a bash patch. Especially with a lot mods, your load order can literally be the difference of you playing the game or it crashing constantly. Hiccups can and will occur with a heavily modded game, but a lot of pitfalls can actually be avoided if people to the time to read a mod author's description and browse the comments.

I played Skyrim a few months back and used over 250 mods with nearly 200 plugins, and didn't encounter any big issues.

Special Edition on PC has the same Bethesda.net browser and the Legendary Edition has Steam Workshop. Both just as "easy", but less mods and less control by themselves. You can still use the optional tools I mentioned and even another mod manager with both too.

Installing most mods with Nexus is simple: download with manager -> double-click to activate. Sort load order through LOOT by clicking sort plugins, then click apply. Done. LOOT is an amazing tool, as it will check your load order for errors and incompatibilities, and 99% of time sort your load order properly.

While not required, creating a merge and bash patch is simple too, and now your mods are playing more nicely together and your game is even more stable. Whether on PC or console, hiccups can and will arise in a heavily modded game. These are worth it though because you still get an objectively better game. At the end of the day, PC gives you more mods and optional tools that give you more control, better troubleshooting, and ways to fix issues.

Followers (using that term so as not to cause confusion with the "companions" faction) can die permanently, though it's difficult. They have to be hit again once they've already been knocked into an incapacitated state, and at that point enemies stop attacking them. You pretty much have to either accidentally kill them yourself or they could get hit with a damage over time attack they can't recover from.

When they get left behind it's more likely that they go back to the first place you meet them. In Lydia's case, the Jarl's place in Whiterun. Check there first.

She must be dead, lol. I looked all over Whiterun, Dragonsreach, my house, but she's not there. Dangit, I have to find another follower now. Thanks for the help.
