    Yup, pretty much.

I would have gotten it anyway, cause Skyrim is awesome, but mods make a huge difference and add a ton of fresh paint to the game, plus add longevity.

People saying it doesn't matter are wrong. It does matter. Skyrim Mods Matter!

If you aren't using mods you're sorta ****ing yourself out of the best possible experience. It's night and day. I couldn't go back to vanilla now.

Kinda of where I'm at currently. want to try it out, but can't stand the vanilla UI in Skyrim. SkyUI definitely spoiled me. So just waiting and hoping the SKSE guys can get the script extender updated, and hopefully SkyUI can get an update(very slim chance it may work with just a SKSE update)

No doubt I agree. Could care less about trophys. The mods I am using have really enhanced my Skyrim adventures.

          I can't stop playing.

Don't think anyone is saying MODS are not good (Great in fact as yes they do have possibility of adding a lot more to the experience)...
What I'm personally saying is getting uber upset that Sony is limiting (Stupid decision IMO) the mod size and type as some huge issue is going overboard.

If the PS4 was originally released with a bullet point of MODS and then Sony did this.. then yeah that's different.
Either way those with both systems are set

With that said MODS are great but I really limit that to my PC experience... but I do wish Sony would loosen up a bit.

I'd rather have trophies. Losing those lessens the experience for me.

We can all have opinions of what we enjoy or find important. No one is right or wrong here for what they prefer.

Agreed. The game won several GotY awards in 2011, and it wasn't just because it was only good with mods.

Anyone's entitled to enjoy the game however they want to.

                  Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I never thought that mods would influence how much I enjoy a game, but they definitely can enhance the experience. I can see both sides of the coin though. I've got a buddy who also has a great gaming PC and a PS4, and he opted to grab this on PS4 just for the sake of kicking back on his couch and goofing off in the open world. He's downloaded a few mods, but with the options so limited on PS4, it's just a couple visual mods here and there.

For me, I've gone kind of nuts with mods on PC, and it honestly feels like a brand new game. Along with mods that really enhance the visuals such as Realistic Water and True Storms (holy crap, what an experience it is being caught in a thunderstorm now), I've downloaded various overhaul mods such as Ordinator and Imperious, and then mods like overhauled sounds that just completely enhance the experience. For example, I'm running a spellsword type character focused on one handed weapons in one hand, destruction and alteration in the other, and light armor with a bit of dabbling in smithing and enchanting. The ordinator overhaul has made it so I can really specialize my character to be more focused than it ever could have been, and the enhanced sounds makes the destruction magic absolutely pop. Even just the novice flames spell sounds absolutely destructive.

It's kind of given the game a new feel for me. I played it on PS3 back when it came out for probably 200 or so hours, but I was never compelled to finish my character build or anything as it didn't feel quite in depth enough. Now, I can see myself playing this all winter with a variety of characters.

I agree I am not too concerned with the trophies either. I do have one mod for faster leveling up but I may turn it back off. the rest of them are mostly environmental. Altough I do have another one for better gear as well.

Neither for me. I thought that the overall experience of both are underwhelming and always just cure myself now.

I think there are mods out to make them more powerful.

**** trophies. I just wanna have fun.

So far, I have the "cheat" mod that adds a bunch of materials + carry weight, the wave mod, the less aggressive animals mod, some sort of potion mod or whatever, and the mod that puts street signs everywhere. Any others I should get?

Static Mesh Improvement Mod is my biggie. Makes the game look a lot prettier. Ars Metallica makes smithing better. Project Hippie adds some trees and makes everything look more beautiful. There's more, I just rattled that off the top of my head. I'll post my list when I get out of work.
