Re: Mass Effect 3
This is cool and all but in the previous games, paragon seemed way more fun to play and the handling of the situations were more that of a great leader. Commander Shepard's leadership ability is what makes Shepard... Shepard. Some of the Renegade options made me feel as if Shepard was just being an *** to be an ***.
The bright side is, you can still play purely one way or the other (like you, I found making Paragon choices more "realistic" for my heroic Shepard), but now you won't be punished if you want to be more balanced (so you can get the drop on a guy without it hurting future charm options). It just sounds like you can actually play a Renegade or Paragon without going full dick or angel now...lol. Win-win.
Can't wait for this game.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
It worked both ways though. There were plenty of Renegade options (especially the interrupts) that made good sense (even tactically) and Paragon choices that were bordering on unrealistically nice given the context of the game.

I mean you can push a dude off a building or shoot a gas tank and burn a whole group of mercs. My guy probably was 2:1 paragon in terms of how high the meters were, but the interrupts are just too awesome to skip over.
Great news about the reputation system though. I lost Miranda in my ME2 playthrough because I didn't have enough paragon points to win her back after the situation between her and Jack, since I had some renegade decisions in the game also.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Mass Effect 3
I couldn't save Wrex during my first playthrough of ME1. I was so sad, and ended up having to game the system/make choices I wouldn't have the second time, just so I could have a high enough Paragon or Renegade. The new system sounds much better.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

I had this game pre ordered since last spring (forgot the game was close to release; havent finish ME2 yet)
Apparently the game shipped from Origins today...
With that said I cant remember them charging my card last year for the pre order (they had a 5% off pre order special)
And my card is not showing a charge as of now...
Either I am overlooking something or I am getting this game for free lol.
Edit- I see the charge it actually charged me last year...So its basically like free because its not coming out of pocket lol...Didnt plan on getting the game anytime soon so I guess its time to pop in ME2 and finish up!!!

Renegade interrupts > any paragon choices in the game.

Glad they changed it because my original guy is a paragon, but sometimes I enjoy him having streaks of anger. Same thing with my renegade being nice at times. I actually got lucky on the Miranda/Jack thing as I had literally crossed that threshold for unlocking the paragon option during Miranda's loyalty mission that I had saved as one of the last ones.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
Finally got around to playing the demo, and to be honest I was pretty underwhelmed with the single player portion. Graphics seemed to be lackluster (hoping they had to compress/downgrade some textures to make the demo smaller), writing and dialogue seemed overly cliche and downright cheesy, and the animations seemed to be clunky and awkward (running animations were god awful and the cover system didn't seem to work as smoothly as Mass Effect 2). Not so sure about run, take cover and roll all being done with the same button either.
The part with theSpoilerlittle boy was about cliche as it comes. That sequence may get to some people, but it did nothing for me considering the interaction with the boy lasted 60 seconds or so.
Something else that bothers me is the game started with Shepard being back on Earth and on trial, and I honestly had no idea why. I did some searching and it turns out that those events, are because of what happened in the Arrival DLC (only played Shadow Broke DLC). I don't think playing DLC's should be necessary to understand what it is happening at the beginning of the game, or at the very least some exposition should be offered for those who didn't play that DLC. I thought maybe some exposition was removed for size purposes, but I found a couple sources who said there is no additional exposition in the final game.
I don't know, I was a big fan of the first two games, but the SP demo didn't really do it for me. I am sure the final game will be better, but with this and the Show coming out on the same day I will wait to pick up Mass Effect 3.My Teams

Re: Mass Effect 3
How in-depth is that little comic book thing that allows you to make the big decisions from the previous 2 games going to be?
I ask because that trailer gave me chills and has me thinking I'm just going to say screw it and get the game on release day. I was planning on holding off for awhile since The Show comes out the same day and I wanted to play through the PS3 version of ME2, but man.....
I should have never watched that damn trailer.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: Mass Effect 3
That is what I know thought as well, but after searching around I saw some sources at other sites that were saying the final version didn't have anymore exposition about that particular story aspect. Hoping that isn't true.My Teams
