People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack Lambert -

Re: Far Cry 3
RDR is still going strong.
Agree that I wouldn't use them as comparisons though..in the context of this game standing on it's own.Last edited by Skyboxer; 12-04-2012, 06:13 PM.Joshua:

Was the giantbomb guy right?

SpoilerHe was seemingly joking when he said he thinks they're in an animus and kinda hoped to see an Abstergo logo somewhere. Well there it is. This too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZebxQjJ9uXU Far Cry 3 = AC spin off?
BTW I think the ad for this game is terrible. Why are they promoting Skyrim and RDR with review quotes? Skyrim is Skyrim with guns on the PC and RDR isn't really something to aim for. The UK ad was fine,it left that non-sense out.
We know, it's on the list of about 500 other games that you don't like. Thanks for letting us know... again... in an entirely different thread.Comment

Re: Far Cry 3
This game is awesome. I picked it up this morning around 9 and im still playing it, and I only have done about 3 mission. The rest of my time has been spent exploring, and playing around in the open world. I is impossible for me to go from one mission to the next without getting distracted with something while traveling. Weather it be a d animal attacking me out of nowhere, or coming across a couple of bad guys who are stuck in the middle of the road because their jeep broke down. The randomness is on the same level as RDR. BTW, I hate the wild dogs.
The crafting is a million times better then a AC III. In this case, simple is better. You dont need to go out and find 3 different ingredients to make one item. You can buy and sell items and any safe house.
The Co-op in this game is very fun. Probably one of the best I have ever played. For the ones that said they will not play multiplayer, I say give the Transmission mode a try. Its very objective based and kills do not mean very much unless you are holding a transmission. So it forces you to play the objective. With your own group this mode will be alot of fun. That is the only multiplayer mode I have played. We know what to expect out of team deathmatch. Also, even though its FP, multiplayer has a Max Payne feel to itComment

Re: Far Cry 3
So im doing one of the wanted dead mission where you have to kill a pirate that has taking over a farm and is growing drugs.
I scout the entire place out and tag all the pirates with my camera. I proceed to lure of of them away and kill him. While Im working on the next guy, I hear shooting out of nowhere. Well, I come out the bushed to see who the pirates are shooting at and I see Rakyats pulling up.
They saved me so much time because they took out everyone except the pirate I was suppose to kill. So before they killed him, I ran up to him and knifed him.Comment

Re: Far Cry 3
Man, I am absolutely loving this game. I picked it up for the 360. The ONLY gripe I have is the frame-rate is noticeably lacking. Is it any better for the PS3? I also just beat COD-BlackOps2 and we all know that one thing COD excels in is smooth as butter frame rates. Maybe thats the reason why I am noticing it more. Anyone have any thoughts?
By the way the opening scene is amazing!Comment

Re: Far Cry 3
Minor complaint here, the graphics seem to be somewhat dissapointing(this is the 360 version) so far. I understood the consoles weren't going to look nearly as good as the PC version (considering it's 6-7 year old hardware), and I am not somebody who needs a game to have great graphics to enjoy it, but the amount of pixelation/jaggies is pretty bad even for a console game. Not to mention I am not digging the weird outline/shadow effect around some of the people and objects.
Gameplay wise the game is very good, but so far the graphics are a bit of an eyesore. Oh well I guess I'll get used to or maybe it could just be an issue with the initial area. If the gameplay is top notch, which seems to be the case so far, it won't be a big deal.Last edited by mgoblue678; 12-04-2012, 10:06 PM.My Teams

Re: Far Cry 3
just traded Hitman:Absolution for this and MAN am i glad i did. First 30 minutes in and I'm already having a blast. I enjoyed a lot about Far Cry 2 so with the many improvements to 3, this may be GOTY for me. Can't wait to start exploring..PSN: jaydazzle

Re: Far Cry 3
Maybe subpar isn't the correct word, but prelease this was being talked about as one the best looking console games. I am not seeing that so far. I don't think they come close to matching games like Crysis 2, Uncharted, Gears, etc so far. Who knows maybe that will change as I get farther into the game.
Like I said I am not terribly sensitive to jaggies most of the time(some jaggies is invetiable on consoles), but the amount seems to be more noticable than usual to the point of being distracting.
Gameplay obviously is still more important first and foremost, which is why it is still only minor issue to me.Last edited by mgoblue678; 12-04-2012, 10:28 PM.My Teams
