Umm....members of the mainstream press can review video games as well as anyone at a big gaming site. This person, however, clearly has no idea what Borderlands 2 is about and should be ashamed for writing such nonsense. Unbelievable....

Did they really just say the single player wasn't as good as COD? I haven't played it yet(later this week maybe) but that is hard to believe. COD single player is just an after thought to multiplayer.

Especially at the single player falling short of the COD games. I finished the past 3 COD campaigns in the time it took me to type this post.

The mainstream press does a horrendous job of covering the gaming industry. Half the time they have no idea what they're talking about and the other half just comes from the fact that they are terrible at games. For a recent example, just look at CNN coverage of the Wii U during E3. They thought that it was a new controller for the Wii.

Hey you'll get no argument from me that mainstream media does a lousy job of reporting gaming news. I cringe at some of the things I read from major news outlets.

However I was referring solely to reviews and the fact that the folks at the big gaming sites aren't the only ones capable of writing a thorough and thoughtful review.

But getting back on topic, I'm still trying to wrap my head around how the person who wrote that blog could have drawn those conclusions about Borderlands 2. I hate to imply that the guy had an agenda, so let's just leave it at him being a complete moron who has no taste whatsoever in games. I think that's the nicest thing to say.

Right after Hammerlock walks out of the area. He gives a few sidequests.

Regardless... Got my Siren up to level 16 (I believe.) Now working on a Commando - so if any of you are playing this on PC [Steam] send me a friend request at ubernoobnth . I'd love to group up and kill some bodies with y'all.

I will take a 3rd person game over a 1st person game 9/10 times, but this series is not at all built around the 3rd person perspective. It literally would not work the way it is designed to play, just like a 3rd person cover-based games wouldn't work in the 1st person.

There's no point in having the view just to have it, ie Fallout; 3rd person is embarassingly bad in that series.

Not at all.

In this day and age they should have it as an option.

There arent many games that offer a secondary look/aspect to their game minus Skyrim...WHICH WORKED which i think everyone would agree.

I'd welcome it EVEN Call Of Duty tried it but ONLY in multiplayer which was let down

I'm not a purist and nonconformist and feel Third person should have its place in ALL shooting games

I've seen gameplay of Borderlands 1 in third person via PC mods and it does appear to work even in ways where I believe they even got the reticule to work?

Granted the cover system arguement is valid i just think that third person would make this series welcome more players including myself

Never played the first one but this is one BAD AZZ game!!! Still trying to figure out what is going on and just when I start to get my bearings a WTF IS THAT? moment happens. This game is so random its not even funny.

Decided to roll with Zero to start out the game. I don't think I'll tech towards sniping though. I may just go full out towards upgrading my cloak and melee damage and use shotguns as much as possible.

You sound like me, that's my play style right there.

My son likes to go the sniper route, I cant handle all that accuracy & aiming crap in these games when things are coming at you from all angles.

I prefer to have shotguns & melee. I picked up the game today but I haven't put it in my 360 yet but I'm assuming the 4 characters are similar to the original Borderlands.
