I really like the game..I just wish they had some stats that separated the characters...like dexterity, power, etc.

Really agree with you there. I sure miss my Mordecai from the first game, too. None of the characters really grab me yet. I got to level 7 or 8 with Axton (the commando) and he was okay but I started over with Zero. I'll see how that goes, but he is so much better at sniping so that's a plus.

And yes, this game seems much harder than the first. Seems like there are more instances where there are waves of enemies.

I am extremely early in the game but at it's core it is still Borderlands and I love it!

I have the pre-ordered copy so I had the key to the chest. Well I was running around in Sanctuary and I saw the chest, I was so excited because it looked like it would have an amazing gun, Well I opened it and thats when my brother said "Nooo don't open it thats the chest that needs the key!" Well it was to late and I wasted they key... I was only lvl8 so I got this grenade mod which is no longer the best a lvl later... I am devastated.

I did the same thing as my Siren. If/When you play with a new character, you will get another key. I have one for Zero and I haven't used it yet. It's tempting though...

Maybe I'm lucky, but that's what it said when I started my Zero character AFTER I cashed the key in with my Siren character.

Something funky is definitely up with the keys. Just talked with a friend, he let his nephew play on his alternate account the last couple days. Then today he finally logged into his main account and started playing. Got the one key from pre order, second from gearbox shift sign up. All normal.

He then got the bright idea to go to his alt account get the two keys there, open the chest, and through split screen give his main account the guns. Profit.

After getting the Shift key he has three keys on his alt account!?

I have three Keys on my account, 1 from pre-order, 1 from Borderlands 1, and 1 from shift.

Hmmm, I only got additional skins and heads from having a bl1 save file. Maybe it's different on different systems.

I might be mistaken, but I got 2 keys for some reason initially then got a third when I did the shift sign up.

I think I ran into a glitch:

Medical Mystery: x-com-municate

You are supposed to go kill the dr. whatever and get his special gun. When I killed him the marker to check his body fell through the floor, so I left the area and came back to find his body by where he originated from and now searchable. So I get the gun and you are supposed to kill 25 bandits in the area, but only 12 spawned (actually 14, ran out of ammo so I had to melee the last two). I tried leaving the are and coming back, no more spawned, maybe more will next time I play

Guns are starting to differentiate a little more, but I'm still not a big fan of shotguns. Right now my main weapon is an SMG. I still haven't decided which way to take Zero, so I'm sitting on like 6 points.

The bandits don't have to be in that area. Just kill them all around the valley.

Well they technically do, sniping and melee are best done by zero, health and shields are gunzerker, elemental damage and healing would be siren, and the soldier is would be stuff for non elemental weapons like fire rate and damage.

Basically how you spec them makes them the best in each category. So you still sort of have their roles.

Will be writing my review when I get home from work.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but, when in Sanctuary find a guy named Micheal Mamaril, he finds weapons for you. Just press x to talk to him and he will tell you he has something for you and give you a weapon. I ran into him in Marcus Kincaid's shop, but he appears to be in random places.

This can be done over and over again. Every weapon you get from him will be at least blue, with the rare chance of purple/orange and are close to your level so they should be able to help you out. I've gotten a couple of really good guns from him.

The story behind that character shows that gaming companies are sometimes about more than making money. Micheal was a 22 year old fan who lost his life to cancer. His friend contacted gearbox, and they produced a eulogy read by claptrap for him as well as including him in borderlands 2 as an NPC.
