Borderlands 2 Review

Ok first off let me say that I havent beat the game yet I however think I played enough to write this review.

STORY

This is where Borderlands 2 is much better than the original, form the very beginning you know who he is and why you get caught up in the mess. Handsome Jack is someone you will love to hate while the story goes on and even start to like his odd sense of humor unlike in Borderlands 1 where you really didnt know who your were fighting and why. There are pot holes like why is Hyperion Reviving you when Handsome Jack wants you dead and so on but they can be overlooked.

GRAPHICS

Once again Gearbox uses the cell shaded method we have all come to love from Borderlands. However this time you will find blues, greens, reds and even purple in the environments making it a much more colorful game than its previous game. Lets not forget all the blood you can handle as well.

CHARACTERS

Borderlands 2 has four new characters that you can experiment. From a robot to a Siren you can find one of them to suit your play style. With the customization options that range from other video game characters heads and skins you can find, it adds to a already mass amount of loot you can get.

LOOT

This is where Borderlands stands out the most. With Borderlands 1 getting a world record for most guns in a game and Borderlands 2 having even more you can expect that record to be broke yet again. Everything from Ammo, Grenade Mods, Shield, Weapons, and Class Mods are loot able. With all the variations looting will become a lifestyle rather than a chore. Online play looting however can get hectic and annoying if you play with people you dont know. Especially if they are loot hoarders that take everything. One thing Diablo 3 did right was have personal loot where you only seen your own loot so others couldnt steal it.

FINAL VERDICT

I give Borderlands 2 a 9.5/10. if you are even remotely interested in loot or RPGs you must give this game a try. Only negatives for me are I had to restart a mission once due to it glitching up, some items falling through the ground and the non personal loot online.

I keep meaning to post this, but the opening sequence is one of the best I've ever seen from a game. Just awesome with that music.

The game looks great when watching on xplay on G4techTV. I play the first game but can't get into the game because I'm terrible in Shooters type games.

Up to level 7 with Zer0. STILL waiting to find a sniper rifle. As of now, i'm just running with a scoped revolver and an absurdly high damage shotgun.

So far, my 2 points aside from my action skill have gone to the critical hit damage perk. Definitely going down the sniper tree first.

Up to level 7 with Zer0. STILL waiting to find a sniper rifle. As of now, i'm just running with a scoped revolver and an absurdly high damage shotgun.

So far, my 2 points aside from my action skill have gone to the critical hit damage perk. Definitely going down the sniper tree first.

I'm zer0 as well and level 8. i think i got the sniper rifle back in level 5 though.

I've had a sniper since about 30 minutes into the game... somewhere around level 1 or 2. I'm not even sure where I found it honestly, lol. Playing as Axton btw.

Did you do the Bullymong mission for Sir Hammerlock yet? If you brought the hairs to him rather than Claptrap he hooks you up with a sniper.

I had fun running with Nuni and Dominik last night.

I apologize for all the questions. I just literally have no idea what the hell I was doing or what was going on.

I was literally running around following you two. Didnt know what our objective was during the missions or anything. The only thing I knew to do was kill enemies until there werent anymore red dots on the map.

Weapon customization (is that even a part of the game? Lol) and character upgrades still go WAY over my head. But even with all that being said, I had a lot of fun and cant wait to get off work to play. Lol


Edit: What I enjoyed most was punching a midget in the face and killing him with my big berserker dude right after he killed Dominik.

I really like the game..I just wish they had some stats that separated the characters...like dexterity, power, etc.

Huh? The skill trees are all completely separate and you can further differentiate your character with the bad-*** upgrades.

I'm in the exact same boat. Right now my scoped pistol is the only gun with range and I want to play more of a long range character. Find myself running out of pistol ammo quite often. Luckily the shotgun I have does 25 x 13 damage + shock. Played a bit with jmood last night, but didnt get to play as long as I would like.

Overall, the game hasn't quite "pulled me in" like the first Borderlands did almost as soon as I fired it up. Gotta give it some time though.

Huh? The skill trees are all completely separate and you can further differentiate your character with the bad-*** upgrades.

Except skill trees aren't physical attributes and Badass points are global and effect all characters under your profile.

That bastard badass midget. All I needed was to get off one more shot to finish him off but I got stuck reloading and died.
