Re: SimCity 5
Does everyone else in the region have germ problems too? I'm using wind power and have my industry pretty far from the residential areas, but I'm still seeing a lot of sick sims. I ask because I see those warnings about air pollution on the rise in OSVille (the entire region) pretty often.Comment

Re: SimCity 5
Is there no way to start from a clean landscape on the same area? Got a problem that's not going to be easy to fix... (self-induced, not a disaster).
I tried abandoning it and reclaiming, but it's still the same city.
Edit: Okay, I recovered, but man, that was close. Somehow while I was drawing service roads for my wind turbines it somehow disconnected them. I barely had enough to bulldoze the messed-up ones and put in a larger one, which thankfully worked. I'm still in the green so I'm okay, but I wouldn't have been for long without power.Comment

Re: SimCity 5
I have found this relates to low tech industry, uneducated sims, and garbage pickup. My germs didn't subside a little until I went into medium tech industry, which you have to have education to get.Comment

Re: SimCity 5
Ok for all that EA screwed up, Maxis makes up for it with a fantastic game. This has a Civilization feel to it, just one more thing before I turn it off. I was playing this for probably 5 hours straight last night. I turned it off, looked at the clock, and nearly had a heart attack. It was 2:15 in the morning. I noticed TJ was still up playing it when I finally went to bed...haha
I started fiddling with specialization and trading on the global market. I put in a recycling plant, started importing alloy (need plastics and alloy for processors), exporting ore (can't produce enough to get a smelter and produce my own alloy), and exporting processors. I am going to try to dominate OSville by corning the consumer electronics trade.
I was losing $3k an hour through my taxes and expenses, but I was still making $300k a month through my global trading. So entertaining right now trying to set up your supply chain.Comment

Happy with where my city went, and now I am in the process of revitalizing. Demolishing my high density streets and replacing with avenues.
I'm actually about 5k an hour in the red, but my recycling plant fueling my electronics plant is giving me huge amounts of simoleans (think I am at about 300k profit a month).
Traffic is becoming troublesome for my theatre, and my airport needs more room for another strip or two. I'm inporting coal as my mine I running on about a 6 month supply, and have plans to incorporate solar power in the revitalization.
I'm the living, breathing Seinfeld episode. I work in importing and exporting.
