Re: SimCity 5
Did you get the 90k with mostly medium density? Going medium density is my next step, but traffic problems may force me to upgrade to high density sooner.
On the education front, even with a CC or University, your tech level will only rise as your sims attend. So if you have low attendance, the tech level will remain low. I wish the map filter actually told you what level of education each sim was, but unfortunately all "educated" means is that the sims are either enrolled in, or have graduated from school, so a sim in kindergarten would be labeled as "educated."
Streetcars seem to really help with traffic, but that of course requires high density avenues. As I'm still low density, I plan on experimenting with park and rides, as that would help give tourists a place to park.
I'm also buying power from you (hopefully until I can educate my sims and buy a nuclear plant), but if you need to cold-heartedly cut me off in the near future, I fortunately have the excess funds to buy a plant. I have enough to start an arcology, but I'm going to hold off as none of us are currently producing any of the needed materials, and constructing a great work will probably take a concerted group effort.
How's your police force? Criminals get chased from cities with a great police force to those without one. Criminals can also level up, so your arson problems might get worse. My current problem is disasters. I've had a tornado, earthquake, and fire-breathing trash lizard attack. Fortunately Kang and Kodos have avoided my city. It must be those darn Shelbyville kids. They have a disciplinary problem. It's why we beat them at football nearly half the time.DSM Transfer.

Re: SimCity 5
Stupid tourists are hurting my economy by blocking the roads into my city preventing the trade depots from selling stuff. The tourist don't do anything but drive to a spot, stop at an intersection with no stop sign or street light for 10-15 game minutes, then turn around and leave the city. wtf.
I don't think I have anything in my city that a tourist would want to see, yet I apparently get 18K tourists a day?
Edit: though I got a laugh when a UFO appeared and took some crates of processors from my factory.Last edited by Solidice; 03-21-2013, 09:09 PM.Comment

Alright, we now have 11 mayors in Springfield, so that means we only have 5 spots left. The region is filling fast, and it's first-come first-serve, so if you want to claim a city, make sure you do it now before it's too late.Comment

Re: SimCity 5
I wish the Arco required plastics...I just got my recycling plant down in the OSVille 1 city and I'll be making three times what I was on the coal market.
I'm also collecting Alloy to to send to the arco project, but I don't know how we're going to get TV's....lol.
Edit: Well, maybe after all the alloy's delivered to the works site I could think about importing TV's, because at that point I'd be able to sell alloy for 50k on the market. Dayum.Last edited by bcruise; 03-21-2013, 11:09 PM.Comment

Re: SimCity 5
TVs cost a lot though. I just started producing some in my city in the springfield region. making about 200K per 1,000 units.Comment

Re: SimCity 5
Nomar, do you have a large fire station yet in your OSVille 1 city? Because I could sure use a loaner Hazmat truck right about now....
Edit: Well, whether it just burned out or my regular firefighters somehow managed to put it out, it's over. I dozed the area around it to keep it from spreading, but there wasn't much else I could do with needing 85k for the large station.Last edited by bcruise; 03-22-2013, 08:41 AM.Comment

Re: SimCity 5
I have an incinerator at mine. 1 seems to be enough for me right now as my dump is typically empty as the incinerator burns it all. just make sure it's downwind so it doesn't pollute residential area.Comment
