Dragon Age 4 is going to be great if they expand on the great things this game offered.Comment

Got this for birthday recently, awesome so far. Just going around hinterlands and doing everything I can. In no hurry.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Try not to spend to much time in one area or else it would get boring after a while. You could stay in the Hinterlands until levels 9-12. Once you do most of the stuff there leave and explore a new area. It helps to keep things fresh and interesting, as well as changing your party up every now and again.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
So I beat the DLC Jaws of Haakon yesterday and I have some issues with it:
Spoiler1. Even though the layout was beautiful looking, almost like the Arbor Wilds in a way, it was way too much walking. You spend most of your time walking way up to the top of mountains and back down again just get to point A to point B. After a while it gets annoying.
2. Way too many spiders. Couldn't walk anywhere for a few minutes without coming across a handful of those things.
3. The Avar in this DLC are WAY OVERPOWERED. My character armor is 309, the rest of my party 280. Everybody in my party have weapons that put out 275 or more DPS. We were getting our butt kicked in every encounter. Every fight last a good 15 minutes or more because for some reason no matter what runed weapon you had, the Avar took very little damage. Even Knight Enchanter class did very little damage to them.
The Avar mages were like tanks. You had to hit them at least 10 times before they took any damage. I was just scratching my head thinking how is this possible ?
4. Why is it you don't get the glowing weapons like the Avar have until THE END OF THE DLC ? Seriously WTF ? Who dumb idea was that ?
After playing the DLC and coming across this new clan of Avar, I have some questions about Iron Bull and Quanari in general.
Spoiler1. Why is Iron Bull so damn weak in this game ? Even with 280 armor he dies way too often. But then again I noticed all 2 handed warriors in your party die too often, too fast. But yet in the DLC the Avar have a lot of 2 handed warriors and they were indestructible. They were usually the last ones to die in combat and it took your entire party to gang up on one just to kill one.
2. I also noticed Iron Bull and 2 handed warriors in your party in general do very little damage. But yet the Avar 2 handed warriors were wrecking balls and literally knocked you and your party members across the field. It is a shame they made the 2 handed warrior class so damn weak in this game too, because most of the most powerful weapons in the game belong to the 2 handed warrior class.
3. I know I can't be the only one who thought oh man I get to play as a Quanari and get to have one as a companion too, how awesome that will be. 2 Quanari in the party would be ultimate destruction right ? Oh how wrong I was. They are weak as humans in this game. I have no idea why Bioware made them so weak. They should be as strong and as tough as the Avar, if not stronger.
I was disappointed that I left Iron Bull at home majority of the time because the 2 handed warrior class is so weak in this game.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
About 50 hours in, I can honestly say this is the best single player Action/Adventure video game I've ever played. The game is so good my wife actually sits and watches me play and she hates video games, she even completes some of the Astrariums for me too.
For those who can't seem to get into the game, be patient, the game really doesn't really get good til you become the Inquisitor in Skyhold, I waited til I reached level 11 to beat Haven, that's just me, some may have more skill than I and can beat it on a lower level.
Your time in the Hinderlands is training! far as im concerned the first 25-30 hours is a tutorial, heck im still learning how to play the game in some aspects. This is my first time playing a game like this, so their's a lot I have to learn about RPG's, so it's probably taking me longer than others.
Improvements I would like to see for the next DA
-Plants/bushes need to move when walked through, characters and pedestrians need to react when running into each other (like in Assassins Creed)
-More realistic character movement and physics like in Tomb Raider, and climbing, they should be able to use their arms to climb up steep hills and over rocks and stuff.
-When looting chest they should actually open, and when handing over items to characters when completing side quest you should be able to actually see the items being handed over, not some imaginary item.
- More conversation during exploring, too much long periods of no dialog, I would love to hear them talk about the weather, hear a little history about the area, I would even like to hear them complain about the long walks, have them say things like I cant wait to get back to Haven or Skyhold so I can take a bath and eat a good meal, etc.
Those are about my only complaints about the game, beside that it's amazing, the best Action/Adventure game I've ever played.Last edited by Mr.Smif; 05-08-2015, 11:25 PM.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I laugh at 85 hours for a Bethesda game. I'd say I've logged somewhere in the 800-1,000 hour range on Skyrim. It's an obsession of epic proportions. Given it's been over the course of almost five years.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Thats insane hours for a single player game. I probably put that into World of Warcraft but its an MMO. Congrats?"In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
As far as DAIII, I just purchased it yesterday, and so far it doesn't seem like its going to reel me in. For one, there's no block button. Two, I can't seem to strafe around a targeted enemy, and three, the combat seems a bit weak. I'm only just close to an hour into the game so we'll see in a few days how it moves me.Comment
