A lil disappointing. Interested to see what this co-op integration deal they're coming out with will be.
Forgot where I read it, but something about not being able to put new squad members(permanent ones) in game if they weren't there in the first place. Kind of like Kasumi in ME2.

Rumors are flying over at BSN, some hoping against hope that it will change the ending/be an epilogue.

Both really tough on insanity, though.
yeah, Vanguard in ME2 is tough on insanity, at least if you tried to play the class as intended.

So Kasumi was the same as Javik, they just didn't release her and Zaeed on launch day.

for Kasumi, the base "code" was there from the beginning(like her spot on the character select screen). but as far as I know her actual mission and content wasn't completed at ME2 release. I believe there were some files that had her in it from the beginning, like some voice dialogue for the end mission.

Yeah. I still remember before she came out, people had modded her in game, with a generic look and character space.

The extended cut makes me feel so much better about the ending...it's almost comical what they tried to pass off as an ending originally...

As a PS3 owner I'm thinking of finally jumping on board with the trilogy..but I'm wondering if playing ME1 feels dated and boring by today's standards. Will I be wanting to skip that part and jump right into ME2?

Combat can be wonky, but playing ME1, even on easy, is a must if you care about the story + import to ME2 and then ME3.

I agree w/ above post; it's pretty obvious ME1 is an older game when you start in on it, although it still looks good and is pretty fun. It's good to get used to the game and the rhythm of the story, but ME1 is by far the most "RPG"-feeling of the bunch - it just "feels" like there's number-crunching going on under the hood during combat, which makes it feel so stiff and un-fluid (not a word I know). By the time you hit ME2, it's pretty clear the game has changed toward a shooter and less RPG, although the RPG elements are still there. The action is better, and further honed in 3. Although I'd say 2 is my favorite of the bunch; I felt like 3 just lacked something in general. Also, after the wide range of characters in ME2, I felt like I ran ME3 with the same squad the entire game for lack of any real options. But if you're going to bother with 2 and 3, might as well just invest and start with 1, IMO. Have fun driving the tank.

ME1 is my favorite game in the trilogy.

Just finished Arrival in ME2, going to start ME3 tomorrow with my infiltrator character. First time in my 3 or 4 playthroughs of playing Arrival and I think that sets the stage nicely for ME3.

Get ready to waltz through...infiltrator is so much easier (IMO) than the other classes in Mass Effects, it's not even funny - once you get a good sniper rifle, you barely even need to engage the enemy.

It's almost cute at times. It's like you have endless Adrenaline Rush with added damage bonus and temporary invisiblity so you can sit there, draw fire, cloack, reposition, and then flank them all on your own.

I don't do that though. I generally use an SMG although I do use the cloak to flank enemies/run back when I am badly injured.
I haven't played in a couple days but I'm about 5 hours in.

Interesting strategy - sounds like it could be a fun way to play Infiltrator. On the multiplayer, using an infiltrator w/ a shotgun is actually loads of fun, so I imagine it might be worth a shot on single player. Speaking of which, I like that in ME3 they made it so any class could use any weapon, so you could experiment and make sort of "DIY Hybrid" classes. I always hated that about ME1 that they really restricted what you could carry/use effectively by class (although I understand why they did it).
