Re: Mass Effect Trilogy releasing this November on 360/PS3/PC (including ME1 on PS3)
SpoilerThe game glitched out on me HARD during that fight. I shot at her maybe twice, didn't seem to do any actual damage. Her Power Level bar thing kept going down. I don't know if THAT needs to go down to win or what. Either way. Next thing I knew, the next cutscene triggered when I was fighting a bunch of her asari mooks. Then I came out of the next cutscene, had some 217 damage assault rifle, I triggered Overkill. And blew her health away. H didn't know what the hell was happening. And her rack was really distracting.SpoilerIn that fight you have to kill all her minions before you can defeat her.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights

SpoilerDAMN IT! I wanted to save Kirrahe. I must have missed some way to help him. I cut the geth triangulation communication so they'd be disorganized. I just deactivated the alarm, I didn't send the geth towards them, and he died anyway. I bet it was something in the other paths I didn't take off before I got to the labs.Comment

Just finished ME1 (again)
What a masterpiece, man. This is the only game I can replay and truly enjoy the experience like it was my first time. The story makes so much more sense now overall..I've said "oh" so many times connecting the dots throughout...
On to ME2!Comment

Re: Mass Effect Trilogy releasing this November on 360/PS3/PC (including ME1 on PS3)
Beat ME it yesterday.
They had everything locked down. No catering to complaints, no dead weight. Everything fit and wasn't geared towards selling more games.
It wasn't tight and some of the controls were clunky, but even the Mako missions weren't tacked on. The game was built around them. I'm kinda sorry they had to go now.
The Citadel didn't feel like a bunch of places to run around in connected by loading screens. You could run through a lot of it with only annoying mid action loading. Felt bigger. More put together. But I guess as each game got better suited to the game engine and there was more content, they had to load the data in somehow and keeping everything sectioned off must have been more convenient at the expense of immersion.
The last mission was really something as well. Really glad I made this purchase.
And while I can see why some people like the RPG elements, the horrible inventory system had to go. You wind up with a bunch of low level weapon and equipment mods you really don't need or want and it takes forever to cycle down and convert everything to Omni-gel once the game tells you you can't take anymore stuff. I should've been allowed to at least swap out stuff I didn't want for stuff I do want, rather than just Omni gel everything new.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Trilogy releasing this November on 360/PS3/PC (including ME1 on PS3)
I hope the new set of ME games are built around the first games 'style' with the thirds engine and graphics. ME2/3 were great games, but strictly from a gameplay perspective, funneling the wide open universe to a few sparsely collected planets while definitely defendable from the plotlines of the game definitely was a bit of a buzzkill. Bringing back more weapon options would be nice as well, if not through an improved inventory system, than rather a lot more variety in our options along with upgrades. Regardless, the story up until the climax of the third game was a hell of a ride, the combat gets a nice improvement from 1 to 2/3.
I have the trilogy, just picked it up to make a run through all three games, definitely a great deal if you only have a game or two or have never played ME. Be careful buying Gamestop 'New' though, one of the disc retainers was broken and falls out if I hold the case the wrong way.Bulls|Bears|Cubs| Blackhawks|Huskies|Horned Frogs|

Re: Mass Effect Trilogy releasing this November on 360/PS3/PC (including ME1 on PS3)
I like the story presentation of one with the cinematic presentation of three and the choice application of two.
It'd make a great 4th title.
I also hope they get all the time they need. I'd rather have waited for fall for ME3 rather than them rush it and not have the endings be as fleshed out as they planned but couldn't cuz the Masters at EA wouldn't allow them the time.
Edit: Also, anyone wonder why it's almost impossible to make a Fem!Shep that looks good from all angles? It's like I craft a nice looking person from head on, but because Shepard spends more than half of dialogues looking off to the side or in awkward profile she winds up looking like someone has close pins on her lips with a weird pointy chin and growths on her cheeks.Last edited by Eman5805; 01-01-2013, 08:57 PM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect Trilogy releasing this November on 360/PS3/PC (including ME1 on PS3)
I've put in 10 hours & I'm enjoying it so far, having never played any ME game so everything is new to me. The combat system requires some getting used to especially when many enemies are on screen i get all frantic trying to shoot & control the action wheel & my companions & sometimes weapon switching while looking for cover. Haha. But im used to it now so i do alot better. I like the galaxy map travel, dont know why but i like to read the descriptions of the planets."In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully

Question for you guys that have played the series. Is there a way to get more money? I see lots of items in shops that I can't afford and am wondering if I will ever be able to afford them? Thanks.Moderator

You sound like me. I never played any of the ME games, but I got a 360 and was looking for some games. Getting all three for the price of 1 was too good a deal to pass up, so I grabbed it. Having a blast with it. I was a HUGE fan of KOTOR so I am familiar with some aspects of the game, the ranged combat is new for me as I always used my lightsaber. Anyways, I am having such a good time with the game. Just finished visiting my first planet.

There is a quick way to earning dough in Mass Effect. It is not a glitch but
more of an exploit in the way the game is programmed. Using it, I was able to
leave the citidel after my first visit, fully loaded with Spectre gear and
armor. Hey, it isn't my fault Dr. Michel overvalued my items

Uh, am I crazy?
I vividly remember having the Collector Assault Rifle in my first playthrough of ME2....now i'm reading that it's on avail through PS3 or from the collectors edition of ME2..but I didn't get the collectors edition originally!! I don't see it in my previous downloads list either...
Was it a GameStop preorder for the regular edition? I really don't think I'm remembering wrong...Comment

Was it a GameStop preorder for the regular edition? I really don't think I'm remembering wrong...Mass Effect 2 is a science-fiction role-playing action game developed by BioWare for the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3.[1] It is the sequel to Mass Effect and the second game in the Mass Effect trilogy. For the walkthrough, see Mass Effect 2 Guide. Also good site for ME as far as maps for each planet...unless you enjoy driving the mako around for hours aimlessly looking for things.
Finished up my, hopefully, last play through of ME1. ME1 meanders a bit too much for me. Yeah, you can skip side missions if you want (which is pretty much 75% of the content), but it impacts later games to a degree.
There are some aspects in ME1 that were OK, but overall I thought ME3 did almost everything perfectly. ME2 neutered the inventory system and I felt like they dumbed it down entirely too much. ME3 brings backs upgrades and a better assortment of weapons, while not bogging the player down with needless inventory management. Brilliant. I also couldn't stand planet scanning in ME2, which they cleaned up tremendously in 3, however, they ruined it by adding that dumb Reaper counter...so stupid. That's really my only complaint from 3. I must be one of the few people that enjoyed it from start to finish (yep including the ending). Really looking forward to the last DLC for ME3, sounds like it'll be good.Comment

I started a 2nd playthrough on ME1 last March, I still have like 25 achievements to unlock and still need to complete the Ahern Survival Mission DLC.
I played through ME1-3 as an Engineer class.
I think I want to playthrough as a Biotic now because ME2 and especially ME3 have some missions which are highly geared towards biotic combat.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
