Re: Dark Souls II
Victory Achieved!
SpoilerAfter struggling with those damn knights in Dragon Shrine, I went and bought 300 poison arrows from Gavlan and sat back while I poisoned them. Also worked on those giants in the memories. I figured Venrick was the final boss, I attempted to fight him and he one shotted me. Then I realized I hadn't done the Throne of Want yet. I thought that Throne Watcher and Defender fight would end up being this game's O&S and the fight was going pretty easy as the Watcher went down quick. Then that other ****er went and revived the Watcher to full health! I went back next time and focused on both evenly until the end.
Then the Nashandra fight started right away. Apparently she was the final boss? She wasn't too tough once I figured out I could destroy the curse balls. At least I can go back and fight Venrick now. Glad I finished the game though since I'm leaving town for a week this afternoon. Really didn't want to leave the end game just sitting there for a week so I marathoned the end this weekend.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Dark Souls II
So even though I bought the game on launch day I needed a good weekend full of no responsibilities and beer and hot wings and 3 day old boxers to really sink me teeth into this game. I dont know why, but for some reason DSII seems more fun to me. I played Demon Souls and DSI but I maybe logged a couple of days into both of those games (put together).. but this one is different for me. Can't really explain it.
Anyways I rolled a warrior (but thinking about going back and starting over with a Cleric). It took me a while to get through the forrest of the giants and finally to the Last Giant boss. After I downed him I felt like I accomplished something major. That and getting that Ring of Binding that keeps your health at 75% even when you are full on undead. That ring to me is a MUST HAVE. It took me like 15 tries to get all the way to the last knight to take him out. I was always running past the other seven but it was taking me too long to kill him at the end to get the drawbridge down. By the time I had him close, the other 7 knights were there and I would die... quickly.. VERY quickly.
So I've got that and the flaming sword which I now have upgraged to +3. I went back into Cardinal Tower to try and kill the Pursuer but I keep getting manhandled. I feel like I need more endurance. I have to roll 2-3 times to dodge his combos and by then I have little to no endurance to make an attack and even if I do, I have no endurance left to get the hell out of dodge. Ive seen some people hit him with the ballista but I can never get to it in timeAAAARRRGH.. maybe I leave the Pursuer alone for now and try to farm more souls somewhere?
Also, I think I've found how I like to play. Some might call it boring, time consuming and methodical but I think I'm going to apply this to Heid's tower. I'm going to literally just kill the knights over and over again until they no longer spawn. This will net me a bunch of souls to upgrade my guy and his level and will also make running back to the bosses each and every time they kill me much more bearable.Last edited by blackceasar; 03-24-2014, 12:14 PM.__________________________________________________ ____

Dark Souls II
Still haven't found the full red eye orb, just cracked. The brotherhood of blood leader sells cracked orbs in ng+ though. I guess I gotta farm some souls and buy hundreds at a time.
That's definitely the reason for lack of invasions in this game. You can't get a steady income of red orbs until you beat the game. It really destroys the purpose of the way of blue and blue sentinels covenants. The guys in ng+ aren't really the ones who need help when invaded.

Re: Dark Souls II
Don't mean to back to back post, but who did you guysSpoilerkill between Creighton and Pate? I went with Pate and helped him against Creighton. I know Pate is pretty much Patches character wise, but Creighton could possibly be a serial killer, plus his armor isn't genuine.
I'm up to 11 flasks now, mainly clearing up loose ends, finding treasure, and exploring areas I might of missed earlier.Comment

I'm about level 160 in NG+. When I'm not invading, I'm constantly being invaded by blue sentinels. This game feels much more alive on NG+. You start seeing all these different builds, armor sets, weapons, and even spells I have not seen until now. On my first playthrough I felt like everyone was using the same equipment. I saw vengarl's helm and drangleic armor on so many characters.Comment

I'm guessing Pate screwed Creighton over at some point and Creighton went mad with revenge. After looking at it, I wish I had killed Pate.
Did you beat the game yet, Lambert? I'm at Earthen Peak in my second run-through. Playing as a mage is awesome. I sort of assumed there would be less options in terms of armor and weaponry, but it has been the exact opposite thus far. I'll be interested in trying a hybrid build once I become more familiar with how the stats work. As of right now, I'm going to play with this character until I get all of the achievements.Writer for Operation Sports

Just some memories, and then the big bosses at the endSpoilerDrakekeepersSpoilerarea with all the warning signs and the lever...
They appeared in my game, so they're from the developers since I play offline. I stayed clear and proceeded around the villa. Aside from the bell ringing, the Crypt itself isn't bad at all. I thought I'd have more trouble with the Aegis(sp?), but he was pretty easy(even when he went to magic). I then went through the Villa, seeing all the experiments that were being done, and almost getting one shot by the Giant Bone Dragon
. The Villa itself is a cool place, even if those damn ogres do massive damage.
I kind of stumbled onto/into the Dragon boss in the Villa, and defeated it in my first go. I had heard rumblings that he was difficult(like the Sentinels), but I just hugged his legs, took my shots, and when he went for his fire breath ran the other way. I made it to the Dragon areas and man, holy **** they're awesome. I made sure not to break their eggs, as they were flying all around me. Those Mace guys at the Shrine are a giant pain. The sword guys are fine, but they swing too fast to get anything in and survive. The same goes for the quick dragon armored guys near the Ancient Dragon.
I'm sorry for the huge post, but lots happened. Only a little left to go, but I'm item hunting now, so I'll probably draw it out.

SpoilerAs for the Dragon boss fight, I'm guessing the difficult one everyone is talking about is Ancient Dragon (who you have already come into contact with), which is virtually impossible unless you get your timing on him perfect. I could be wrong though, I've still avoided looking up too much about the game so I'm not sure which bosses have been universally considered hard.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Dark Souls II
Im at soul level 130 and have been putting my sign down at Sinner. I commonly get pulled into new game plus worlds. That **** is tough. My spells are not a damn thing in NG+ lol.
Those explosive zombies are gg in NG+.
Ive seen speed runners run all strength double mace and completely massacre sentinels. What is this about power stance and stunlocks, and staggering? The guy just locked all the bosses in a never ending loop of swings. I was stunned from just watching the complete obliteration of bosses I had the hardest times with.Comment

The one you have to fight just to get to the Dragon Shrine area. I didn't want to mess with the Ancient Dragon, too big and above my pay grade
Also, I traded theSpoilerExecutioner's Soul for the Chariot Lance. Man, I love this thing. It even has a sort of "machine gun" like stab in RT.Comment
