One of those games where I've got no problem replaying the entire story through again.
I played through again recently on PC and it looks damn good. Hair works off, Ultra settings except for Shadows and Foliage Visibility Range on High, locked at 30fps with NV Inspector and Rivatuner. Your 390 will probably do the same, but at 60fps or you could push beyond Ultra settings with ini tweaks and lock it at 30fps. The in-game vsync and frame rate limiter gives bad frame pacing, so do it through the GPU driver.

It's a good looking game on console, but textures, shadows, draw distance, foliage density, water, effects, and load times are noticeable improvements on PC.

    I used these two mods:

Just to cosign, yeag 1080p 60fPS is no prob for the 390. I play at 1440p with the same settings you listed plus ReShade and get an average of around 45-50 FPS overall.
      PS: You guys are great.

What... A... Game!!! Picked this up last Tuesday and haven't put it down since.

What an immersive world. The crafting/armor/potions is a lot to sift through.

Any other tips of the trade would be QUITE welcome.

Yep if your talking about buying seashells and breaking them down and getting the pearl and selling it back for way higher than what you paid.

I finally started playing this tonight. And now I'm kicking myself for not starting sooner. Better late than never, I suppose.

This play through I definitely have a new approach. I am going to try to exhaust an area before its time to move on. Currently I'm still early on and hunting the griffin but I am going to see as much of White Orchard before its time to move on. This way I won't find myself globe trotting the entire time getting no where.

Now that I'm really working the map and brewing potions and crafting it's getting pretty addicting. I still think it'll be a week until or so until I exhaust white orchard. I tend to doubt I'll ever be back, so I want to finish it clean.

I love the atmosphere of this game.

I received my hard cover collectors guide and I am going to start over. I am only 15 hours in and feel like now that I have read over the different builds I know exactly the way I want to go on this play through and made some mistakes. I too want to explore each area head to toe and level better before moving forward.

So this weekend we start fresh and never look back.

Don't say never. I was working on trying to get one of my last potions brewed. Couldn't find the last ingredient to save my life, literally. So on a whim I went back to herbalist in White Orchard and she had just enough.

She seems worth it to return. Good point.

So what am I doing wrong here?

I'm still in White Orchard, doing the Missing In Action side quest. We find the shield and the dog picks up the scent. And from what I've read, the dog is supposed to run off into the woods and I follow him. But, the dog just sits there for me.
