    Re: The Witcher 3

I have a nitpicky/peculiar question for those who may know.

    Kind of multiple questions...

    1. Is every dead body lootaable? And do bodies disappear after/during battles?

I always hate when they do. Again, I know I make a lot of comparison's to Skyrim and Fallout but it will be pretty cool to be able to look around at all the carnage after a battle on this game if bodies don't disappear.

    2. Is there any kind of player housing? One of my favorite aspects of Bethesda games is the housing system(s) where you can essentially collect things. I loved/love collecting miscellaneous items on both Fallout and Elder Scrolls and decorating my humble (or not so humble) abode.

out of curiosity,do you have a link supporting your claim? I would be interested to see what is being said.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

It's these strengths that I hope aren't diminished in a game that is now vastly larger in scale.
The best thing about the choices / consequences is reply value. You can play how you feel through the first play through and if you feel like picking the story up again after beating it you can play again with essentially a different outcome to the story.

          1. Yes and no, at least not immediately. I'm sure after some time and getting far enough away bodies will disappear.

          2. I doubt it. Buying houses and managing them goes completely against the lore of a Witcher.

I've read your other posts and I'm not sure this is going be able to meet what you're looking for. The comparisons to Elder Scrolls are inevitable with a much larger world, but this isn't going to be a sandbox-style RPG. Not trying to dissuade you from giving it chance, just setting expectations.

              • Lessons learned from Skyrim: you need to care about immersion in the game.

              • "Skyrim was generic". Disliked the way Skyrim handled quests, where NPCs would never really acknowledge what you accomplished or did. You'd have a generic set of quests and that's it. The team feels that quests should be unique and NPCs should acknowledge the things you've done for them.

              • Felt this is where The Witcher 2 succeeded: choice and consequence. You got to see how your quest choices impacted the lives of NPCs, and you can speak to them about it, whether they're angry or happy.

              • "(Skyrim) didn't have very good characters". Tried to remember and name five different characters from the game and couldn't.

              • Thought exploring in Skyrim was great, but the story and characters were generic. So they want to learn from Skyrim how to best make an "open world". Make sure they have huge vistas, but plenty of adventures and stuff to do.

              • Notes Fallout: New Vegas: thought it had a really good story and open world without too many cutscenes, but felt something was missing. Thought it might be caused by the tools, or something else, but whatever it was it shows that it's a big challenge to blend the two.

IMO, these quotes from the dev team are totally on point. Skyrim is a great game, one of my all time favorites, but my expectations are that W3 will be significantly better for me, because the narrative and the characters are more important to me than freedom.

One can like both types of games, but IMO, it's harder for those who prefer Skyrim type games to get into Witcher than vice versa, but you can never know until you play any specific game.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

the Code I got from my new Graphic cards was for GoG as well.
I was able to download all the extras that came with it(digital art, ect)
but the preload of the game itself was ready yet at that point.
Will need to check when I get home.
