How exactly does the mind control Axii thing work? I have leveled it to that point and when I hold R2 to use it the enemy just stands there in a daze and doesn't attack other enemies. I've tried it on humans and monsters both. Also I have it activated on my character screen to.

It's hit or miss for me.

Sometimes I use it and the guy goes on a rampage or at least draws aggro from the crowd, other times the guy just stands there or moves a little but doesn't attack. I'm considering dropping it for quens alternative mode instead. It stinks because when it works it's fun and I like playing a "crafty sorcerer" type

Sometimes they just chill out when other people aren't close enough for them to attack. A lot of the times they get killed on the first swing from their friends. I like having it on deck because it focuses attention away from Geralt.

What level are you and what kind of weapons do you have? That could be the difference maker.

The first werewolf fight was my favorite 1-on-1 battle thus far. What worked for me was pop quen (the way I start every fight) dodge his charge, get 3 fast strikes in, dodge the counter, one more fast strike, dodge the second attack. Used Igni Firestream to light him up, use the time that he's on fire to let my stamina regen then pop Yrden, and do the same with more strikes mixed in since he's slowed. When Yrden expired torch him again, rinse repeat. It was the tango with magic, swords, and claws.

Personally I just got the first upgrade only. As long as I can block the arrows, especially when there are multiple archers I am good. There are better skills to spend your points on.

Yeah I missed all of those too. On PC the patch added some cards to the merchant you rescue within the first couple of minutes of the game.

            My tips

Try to use as many spies as possible. If your opponent throws spies at you, use a dummy card to take the card and use it on them, The more cards to play with the better.

If you don't have a dummy to take away opponents spy, use a medic after the round to immediately use the spy from your discard pile.

Stack the hand shake icon cards in your playable deck. A pair of those in your hand and the horn can get you points up quickly.

Against the monster deck players (the armorer in Crows Landing) stack as many Biting Frost cards in your deck as you have available before the draw. You need biting frost to beat them. Let her use all her summon cards. If you think the round can be won, use biting frost on her. Most of the monster are melee. She tends to spam them all, using more than half her cards in the 1st or 2nd round.

Is it possible to bang the herbal chick in White Orchard, she was acting like she wanted it.

Can you view your gwent deck in your inventory somewhere?

It's in the Options menu where you manually save. One of the options is Gwent Deck. It gives you the same screen as the one you see before you start a match. Can build and change your decks here.

I beat the tutorial guy and got the leader card but didn't buy any cards. Can we not go back to white Orchard and buy them once we've moved on to Velen?

Thanks for being helpful. I haven't played Gwent yet so I haven't paid attention.

On PC only, you can go back and buy it from the merchant only. Unfortunately the Inn keeper is gone after progressing to Velen.

That's only true on PC currently. It should be included in the next patch for consoles to do the same. They will be available from the initial merchant you save at the beginning of the game.

                              Two questions:

Is this game better on PC or PS4? Can it be played offline?

I find myself just trying to time the deflection perfectly to send it back and missing. Plus yrden leveled up destroya arrows. I might use my potion of clearance and am trying to optimize my skills

Also, there's a person in distress marker that is killing me because the bandits don't drop the key to let the guy out. I've loaded a bunch of past saves and no matter what I can't find a key anywhere at the camp
I haven't leveled up the arrow deflecting skill enough to send back a return shot, but I definitely find being able to deflect a useful skill when taking on the gang hideouts. It narrows the playing field for me so I can focus on the melee guys first.

Side note: It is also extremely cool leading a melee guy right in front of an oncoming arrow and watching them get filleted!
