    Re: The Witcher 3

4 million sold in two weeks

    Dear Gamers,

May 19th was a crucial date for all of us here at CD PROJEKT RED — we released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, our open world role-playing game that we had been hard at work on for over 3 years. Since day one, you have given us tons of positive feedback and support — the sheer volume of emails we’ve gotten since launch simply congratulating us for our efforts is both epic and heartwarming, and I wish every developer comes to have such a fantastic community. In terms of media reception, we’re really humbled by the scores the game has received all around the world. With an average of 90+ on every platform, Wild Hunt is our dream coming true.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the four million gamers worldwide who bought The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the first two weeks from launch. Four million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is! Until then, keep on enjoying Wild Hunt, do not forget to grab your weekly set of free DLCs, and stay tuned for constant updates and enhancement to the game we are continuously working on.

Dandelion once said to Geralt that the world is changing, the sun is setting, and vodka’s running out — go, play, and have fun!

    All the best,

      Plus, death march.

I still have a long ways to go as I haven't even sailed to Skellige yet, but I know as soon as I "finish" the game I will starting it up again.
I didn't win the Gwent card off of the Baron before he left. That alone is a reason to play through again. I want ALL the Gwent cards, dammit!

        Spoiler

I'm missing the Zoltan Chivay card that you receive from the Scholar in White Orchard. It was supposed to be placed on his body underneath the Hanged Man's Tree if it wasn't won in White Orchard, but its not.

I went over to my cousin's house last night and we both played for a bit. He's been going through on Death March and it was just interesting to see how different the same game can be played. His style of combat primarily used Axii to focus attention to the turned enemy and would essentially let them kill each other until there were 2 or 3 left.

At one point he was taking out a bandit camp for a quest over in Skellige (beautiful islands BTW) and he turned this big bear of a man and the guy completely wrecked the hideout. He was the last enemy standing and took out the last 2 or 3 guys with only about 2-5% of his health remaining. He fought well, but he died too in the end.

Ah, OK. I got it then. I was wondering why the Collect Them All quest didn't fail. Thought since the Baron line in the Velen Players quest went red I had missed it.

Loving this second play through on PC so far, having a blast. Such an amazing game.
Aside from Biting Frost cards another viable option is spies and horn cards. I played a Monster Deck yesterday where I had two Biting Frost cards in my deck but didn't draw any of them, nor did I get any of my spies. Luckily I drew my Horn card, two Temerian Special Forces, and I have the Foltest Horn Leader card. That was able to get the job done.

The close combat scorch card also works well if you play it at the right time.

Instead of using weather cards, I rely on horns, only weather card I use is the leader ability to use clear weather. Since there are hero cards they don't effect and needing cards to cover all three rows, I find it more reliable to rely on building my attack than trying to suppress the enemy.

Clear weather is useful. The only time i find any other weather card that useful is if it's for a row i dont have any real impact with, like say biting frost when i only have 1 close combat card. Then i use that as a decoy and try to get the cpu to play another card in another row when i plan on folding that hand. I end up keeping more cards and use teh card advantage to outlast the next round.

Northern Realms with the Seigemaster Foltest is pretty strong. I think my deck strength is up to 145 now. The Nilf deck is playable, but I hate the idea of not drawing a card after winning a round.

**** that thing. It's screwed me multiple times against the monster decks. Sad thing is that I new it was coming since I was using my Nilfgaardian deck and looked at three cards earlier. Tried to get them to burn it in the second round to no avail.

I hope the new Batman will be good but I'm afraid it will get boring after a couple of hours.
I haven't played Dragon age in months honestly and actually went back to Skyrim while waiting for the witcher 3. Batman is similar to Assassin's Creed in the way that it becomes repetitive after a few hours. I just end up watching the play through on YouTube. They nailed it with TW3 though, incredible game all around. Bethesda better have stepped their game up if they expect Fallout 4 to compete with this.

The scorch card (which I have) has burned me so many times, especially when I thought "Aha! I got you!" and play the scorch card and it proceeds to torch my high-power card(s).

Needless to say, it happened for quite a number of times before I finally learned how to use it. And yes, I read the description 4 times before I finally concluded for myself that it does indeed torch any high-powered card on the battlefield, not just the enemy's.

Not sure how I managed this, but last night I somehow killed a dragon with only two crossbow bolts while it was flying. Pretty sure it was around level 12, I'm at 10 currently. Lower level wolves and downers would take 4 or 5 and not even flinch.

Sounds like a glitch, but I do find things that fly easy to kill by shooting them out of the air, quick attack combo, run until they go back air borne, repeat.
