Im a level 8 and decided that I would stick my feet in the DZ and that turned out to be a mistake, apparently went in on the wrong entrance and got killed after about 2 seconds in. Is it pretty much for people level 10 and higher? My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Early on it's not a big deal if you get in over your head and die because you'll be building DZ levels faster than you can lose them. But when you rank up in DZ level you'll want to play carefully, because dying will cost you a lot of XP and you can actually lose DZ levels from dying too much.Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Great night last night with Shando and ODogg. Props to ODogg for fighting like hell in the face of serious overpowered enemies!
Me and Shando joined ODogg's session and for some reason, every enemy we fought was ranked 15-20 while ODogg was only rank 10. I don't know if me and Shando being in the group raised the level of all enemies or something.
But ODogg held his own and even fought through hell with us as we ran the Napalm Site and Joe Ferro mission on hard difficulty. It was a very difficult and slow mission as we had to restart a couple sections more than a few times after getting overrun, but we eventually managed to get the job done!

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Alright, looks like the game scales. Doing some Google searching while sitting here at work, at least for normal difficulty on missions, the game will split the difference between player levels. As we found last night when I first joined ODogg, me at level 20 and him at level 10 we ended up fighting level 15 enemies in the mission he was in.
And apparently on hard difficulties, the missions scale directly to the highest player in the group, thus why we were facing level 20 and 21 enemies on the Joe Ferro mission.
Overall, the enemy ranks seem to scaled off the highest level in the party when just running down the street or doing side missions/encounters.
So either the low level guys will have to work together on missions to try and get their levels up, or if they're willing to fight enemies potentially anywhere from 3-10 levels above them, they can roll with some of us higher level guys if they're crazy enough. It still worked pretty good last night, just had to keep an eye on ODogg so one of us could revive him when an NPC would catch him with a couple bullets.Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I think it's worth mentioning again just how great this game is for the solo artists out there as well. I've done nothing but roam alone since launch and am currently 10 hrs in as a level 7. That's having only completed TWO Main Missions since getting to Brooklyn.
Absolutely, without a doubt, PLENTY of content for the single player gamers of the world, at least those who like to actually do everything there is to do and love to explore.
I also have yet to even thinking about going into the DZ.Last edited by DickDalewood; 03-12-2016, 08:59 AM.Comment

And yes, there is a TON to do. I'm level 21 right now, and I still have yet to even step foot once in the Dark Zone. Hell, I still have the entire Eastern half of the map to explore yet, much less even think of worry about the Dark Zone right now!
I'm a huge RPG fan, have been since the PS1 days, and I'm a completionist at heart. So if there are still missions, side missions, encounters, hell, even collectibles like echos and phone recordings still on the map that I haven't beaten or collected yet, I really bugs me to sit there seeing 70/130 (or whatever the numbers are) for recordings, or seeing encounters still on the map in zones I've already been to.
So that desire to have a clean, clear map and 100% collectibles is making it extremely easy for me to entirely dismiss the Dark Zone until later on.Comment

I've tested some things out solo but for the most part I've only been grouped up and that's the way I prefer it. Everything you do solo can be done in a group
Main area scales to your group size as well. More enemies, tougher enemies, better loot
Speaking of loot, I definitely recommend investing in scavenging bonuses"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

^ That's what makes the game so great. Everything done solo can be done in a group and, for the most part, everything done in a group can be done solo. One of the very few games I've ever played where that's not just listed as a selling point but is actually 100% true.
ANY type of gamer can basically get hours of enjoyment from this title.Comment

Sweet revenge...this SMG is a crit machine. I counted at least 7 or 8 orange numbers and that will end someone pretty quick.

The second guy, btw, was in league with the one that killed me, though I didn't find out about that until later. Even if he wasn't, I wasn't in a forgiving mood with what just happened.Comment

Couldn't agree more and appreciated the teamwork. Stayed on about two hours after the group and ventured into the DZ. Found two other loners and we managed to do some damage cleaning up a group of four rogue agents and Afew factions. Extracted some decent gear that I need to go through this morning but managed to make it DZ level 14.

I also concur on scavenging. I've been able to get gear that fits my high health tank build, while also getting up to, at the moment, +56% scavenging boost. I've seen a lot more blue since getting that number up, and as I get further into the eastern and northeastern portion of the map, hopefully that bonus leads to purples.Comment

And yeah, from what I've read, and I'm pretty sure some have even posted here in the last dozen or so pages, if you wait to go into the Dark Zone until you get high leveled, it'll result in higher level enemies and thus result in a crap ton more exp, making it extremely easy to level up a bunch of levels in a very short time in the DZ.Comment
