My son and I just had so much fun playing the beta together and I even found myself enjoying our time in the Dark Zone since I didn't need to be all twitchy like typical shooters and could focus on strategy. I rarely go for these kind of games, but I thought this one was really well-balanced and hit all the right notes after the trial run. I'm definitely looking forward to release!
Yeah, the non twitchy more strategic nature of this game plays right in to my wheelhouse.

It's definitely not going to appeal to everyone. Much like myself, I totally hate games like COD, too fast paced for my tastes. I actually prefer the slower paced more strategic games so this game is damn near perfection....peace!!

I kind of agree with them but Ubisoft games never felt that dull. Im talking Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six which were tactical strategic games.

I understand team play and dark zone, but its kinda iffy

          I get both sides really

If I get a month out of the base division it will be a win for me.

After my experiences with destiny, these games are not mmos. They're RPGs you play, take a break from, and come back to again later.

However, after a long string of frustration in many different PvP centric games this week, I've recently gone on (insane) rants in my party chats over PvP games and lag and trash game mechanics and systems that all support bs tactics strategies and slot machine addiction schemes to keep us playing. For that personal reason I am back on the fence on buying this one again. This game checks every box on games that just frustrate me nowadays. Yesterday I rage deleted every game I owned that had any semblance of PvP in it and vowed not to buy another for a long time.

Can't break that kind of vow less than a week into it right?

              Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)

This game is definitely more on the RPG side of things, especially compared to Destiny, and certainly not everyone will appreciate those aspects of the game. That said I find it a nice balance between RPG and tactical shooter, both of which can be rather slow-paced games.

I actually think the game is paced pretty well - the missions are frantic at times, while crawling the streets is a more deliberate process. Of course the Dark Zone offers suspense and tension because you never know when you'll bump into a rogue agent or some other non-friendly. PvE streets are similar but generally more predictable.

I grew up on RPGs, though, starting with Final Fantasy VI on the SNES, so I suppose this is more my wheelhouse. Plus I used to play a really slow-paced RPG that was just non-stop grinding (Xenimus). In hindsight the game was so boring, but for whatever reason I played it to death.

Completely agree with Hoos that this game just isn't for everybody. I love that they had two betas so people could figure out if it is a game for them or not.

I think it's going to be a great RPG. Love the team elements with the RPG structure. So much fun, for me anyway. Can't wait, almost there!

I don't regret going digital. I'll gladly sacrifice a day or half a day of early play for the next 6 months of not having to mess with a disc when I want to play.

I just can't see the benefit in buying digital games. Once your done, what are you going to do with it? Two used hard copy games are waaay more beneficial than two used digital games.

Buy just one digital game and see how convenient it is to not have to get up and find a disc and remove the old game, insert the new game and then have it load up versus just clicking on an icon and going into the game immediately and you will see the benefit.

Yes if you buy a game and beat it, turn around and sell it or trade it in quickly then going digital is probably not for you. Because if so you can probably get $40 for a game that's not very old.

But for me, I only buy games I play for a long time, games like The Division, Rainbow Six Siege, Diablo, etc and by the time I'm done with them their trade in value is equivalent to about a Big Mac so I'd rather keep them.

It really depends upon how you game but for me digital is how I try to buy whenever possible.

I'm over digital until they lower the price. Asinine that you are forced to pay "more" for digital than physical if you have BBGCU or now pre-order from Amazon. I work on Tuesdays so I can wait for Amazon or drive the 4 minutes to Best Buy just on principle.

I did digital for Fallout 4 because I know I'll enjoy playing that for a long time.

Otherwise I mostly agree. I love the convenience of digital, but it's not worth it for games I'd normally sell back when done.

So all the announced expansions are supposed to come out over the first 12 months after release, right? Or did I misinterpret that?
