So how do you tell if the mod your buying helps your dps?
I saw a purple mod that said on the screen it would take my 104k dps to 126k, so I spent the $40k and when I go to put it on it lowers my dps on all weapons.

I've tried switching all 3 of my weapons and looking but still having the same issue, it's almost pointless to buy a mod unless it has the same stats but better.

Another issues I'm seeing is what to do with my money.
Im level 30/30DZ, I have a ton of credits, dz credit, and a nice stack of Phoenix credits also.
Every vendor I look at has gear that is less that what I have on, even the gold blueprints show a drop in stats.

Basically I just run around killing landmark bosses, and doing the 3 daily missions hoping something drops. My money seems pointless now.

Use your money to reroll the stats on an item. And take all mods off when comparing.

Well I've hit level 30 on both character level and Dark Zone Level, finished the story and am now thinking about how to optimize my build. My entire focus is centered around using the SMG's specific bonus - critical hits. Every skill and talent I'm using, as well as most of the equipment, is focused towards that and dealing as much damage in a short time as possible.

With my current SMG I do almost 6000 dmg per normal body shot, and with a magazine size of 55 I can full auto that thing with almost no recoil. It's decent damage, but I really need critical hits (orange damage numbers) to make it worth using.

With my current equipment set (which is just barely endgame with some recalibration mods), I have a 31.5% SMG base critical rate with +84% crit damage. That's not taking headshots into account which I don't really look for since I have to be close in.

There are a few ways I can can increase that rate even more, and that's where the specialization really comes in. Pulsing a group of enemies highlights them through walls (everyone knows that), and it increases critical hit chance and damage by 12% and 25%, respectively. I have equipment that boosts that up to 16% and 38%. That means that, while pulse is active (26 seconds), I will have a 43.5 % chance to crit and 107% extra damage when I do. That's....significant. If I REALLY want to get serious, I also have the signature skill that further increases normal damage (+50%) and Crit chance (+20%). Even equal leveled elites' HP will melt to that fairly quickly, but it only lasts 12 seconds and takes a LONG time to recharge.

So, what happens when the fight lasts longer then 26 seconds? With all this damage I don't put a whole lot into survivability and as such, I have to more or less hold the line. My first priority is recharging that pulse, so I use the smart cover with the recharger mod (which also heals me, and is my only non-consumable out-of-battle healing option) to decrease skill cooldowns by 20%. I have an AR that deals out more normal damage than the SMG - it's not as dependent on crits, so it's more consistent without the pulse), so I switch to it during the recharge. Then when it's ready (base cooldown for pulse is 64 seconds, though it's less with that smart cover), I pulse again and go back to work with the SMG.

As I mentioned before, it's pure glass cannon - 4-5 good AR shots from a L30 will drop me. Smart cover isn't a very quick heal, so I'm very dependent on medikits when things go south.

So that's what I'm going with right now. That's just one example of what you can do. Each class of gun has it's own buff - headshot damage on marksman rifles, for example. Getting the most out of endgame is going to come down to how well you build around that starting point, I think.

You don't have to crunch the numbers like this to be able to enjoy the game, but it's certainly there for those like me who want to.
Yeah, I've gotta get more into a specific build. I was more or less concerned with having all lvl 30 purple gear, which I have now, and that's made an impact on how well I survive the NPCs in the DZ. Now I've gotta think about an actual build.

Just tried a challenge mode daily with a group of four randoms. We got ganked immediately.

Gotta have a tank who can hold aggro. Smart Cover is a good ability for these missions with that damage resistance you can have up almost non stop

Is it viable to be a support/tech focus with sticky bomb? I like the idea of that but obviously my Weapon DPS would not be the greatest.

How many of the daily missions can you do and still get rewards? Me and my buddy ran the Lexington mission earlier for the daily rewards, but I'm still seeing multiple missions marked as daily missions, and when I change the difficulty on the map, it says it still gives rewards.

Can we run multiple missions marked as daily and still get phoenix rewards for each?

Yeah, I think there are 3 (could be wrong on that number) that you can do. Each one will give the rewards (obviously only once a day.)

Warrengate Power Plant on challenging is insane. With random that aren't the best makes it even worse. Surprised at how I was able to the do the Lexington Event Center.

Finally hitting the wall of good gear I can get from mission. Only at 56k-66k DPS, and 66k Health.

If anyone is going to the DZ on PS4, and has room let me know.

Up to 2094 firearms, 1707 stamina, and 1470 electronics after some successful solo DZ action. Got my first yellow drop (high end electronics mod), few pieces of superior gear, and like 4 superior guns (ACR, AUG, and a few others).

Really liking the AUG for the SMG crit buff talked about earlier. It's quite stable as well. It's up to about 78k damage.

I've never been much of an LMG fan in any shooter, but I've got to say, after rocking one here I'm in love with it.

Such a great balance to counter my marksman rifle. In the past (every other game ever) I'd always go AR then SMG without really giving anything else a chance. I think I'm sticking with the LMG for the foreseeable future.

Hoos has & likes the AUG SMG as well. Regarding the damage, it's all relative so kinda hard to use as a barometer. Being that most people's firearms ratings are different.

But 78k sounds good for around 2k firearms. I'm around 2.2k and depending on the weapon I'm using I can be a bit below your number to a bit above it. I don't always exclusively use the highest dps rated weapons in my inventory. I have certain weapons I like to use for certain scenarios.

I think my first gold drop was a gear mod as well.

Just got through my first challenge mission . I was grouped with a squad of 3 who apparently have done the a lot already and they provided some very insightful feedback regarding builds for high end pve content. Very interesting. I'm keeping my sticky bomb for dark zone and regular missions but for the high end stuff I will be using support station/heal gun or support station/Smart Cover with either the shield signature or damage signature
