I just don't get how people are ranking so high. I played for four hours last night non-stop and went from 15 to mid 16. I did a ton of side missions, encounters and collectables. So I am 1 Day 12 hours of playtime and at level 16. Maybe I need to do more main missions?

The main missions definitely give enormous chunks of XP at completion, I almost wish they had given less so I would have been forced to do more side stuff before 30.

But yeah, that's probably the difference

The missions give the most experience, followed by clearing out the side missions and then going to the safe house to collect that XP. The encounters add on.

Collectibles are sort of a waste if all you're going for is leveling. You can unlock something in the security wing (I believe) that reveals all undiscovered collectibles after clearing the side missions in a section.

Honestly I'm saving the remaining collectible gathering until the end, as that will give me a reason to go back to all the different areas, but once I focused exclusively on doing the missions for leveling, I started going up pretty quick. Went from 18 to 24 in about 10 hours give or take.

It does seem like, though, that you level up faster at the higher levels. Maybe that's just because my pacing has been different lately, I'm not entirely sure.

I think that's exactly what it is. I've been doing that pretty much too. Side missions and stuff gives like 330 XP while main missions gives thousands.

Does Smart Cover stack? Was doing some Challenging mission with some guys that had 3 Smart Cover. I didn't notice a damage increase, but they swore that it helped increase damage.

I highly doubt it stacks. If it did people could conceivably run around with 200 percent mitigation and damage increases

Flashbang stuns don't stack either, but last night in our challenge mode team candy and I just alternates between using ours and kept the mobs stunned as much as possible

You can also get XP gains for both areas through gear. I have about +20% XP boost on both of them

So last night tried my hand running solo in the dark zone at level 15 which put me in the 15-19 bracket. And of coarse was killed at extraction only pocket up a piece of clothing to see how the players there were playing.

But died so came back to try to get revenge and another group showed up and in the confusion I killed another agent. So now a level 15 Rouge surrounded I did what any reasonable person would do. Run.

Booked it back to the beginning to get down into the subway hoping for the elite down there to allow some confusion plus the filter level to help we'd guys out. But since I was constantly under fire only got it down to 70 seconds remaining lol.

So decided to try to get to 19 and went in again this morning and meet a troll who started following me and trying to get in the line of fire. Thing is I happened to have ran through the subway and that elite I guess didn't like my running away so he followed me and showed up at the extraction zone.

So the guy kept trying to get between me again so I would lie him so he wound get caught in the flame thrower and he stopped. Than he killed me while waiting for the extraction.

He didn't even take my great which only had a couple of blues from the elite but when I came back I saw a group of 3 rogues had killed him. I shot at them since they had a couple 16s in there. They hit me with a shock grenade so I hid and another group showed up so we killed their low level guys as the 19 booked it down into the subway to try to wait out the timer. He was distracted so I started shooting him in the back so he ran into the mob and died. Those rogues got me s nice dz boost from low 14 to mid 15.

But every chest I'm finding requires a level 30 dz so I might just level up to 30 before messing with the dark zone again.

Man, I got rng trolled hardcore today. Got my first gold drop in the dark zone and went nuts upon seeing that sweet column of gold. So I run up grab it and hide in a corner to check my spoils. A long range scope with good headshot damage and... Xp bonus. So I had to salvage my only gold drop I've had.

This was a fairly easy challenge ended up running it 3 times. Those 90 Phoenix Credits got me the black market AK, although it was tough to pass up the liberator....Not really impressed with the high end gear that I got from it though. It was all spec to stamina and TBH not much of an improvement over some of my purple gear.

But it was fun to run that stuff and reap the rewards. May run it a few more times tonight once our regular 4th gets off work.

Got a gold vest today, pushed my stats up

127k dps
65k stam
10k skill
Really starting to cut through 30-31 gold guys, 32 still take some work.

The gold gear mods and weapons mods you can buy blueprints for are awesome. I think that's where good builds and great builds will show separation, who has the best mods on their gear and weapons. Those little things add up

Along those lines I think mag mods might be next on the nerf list. Those things are wickedly overpowered. A gold mag mod on a vector puts so much lead down range.
