Re: The Order: 1886
Beat me to it. I reckon I'll play through this for a third time during a lull.

Excellent point! It could have kept people interested in the game, with back stories and other adventures."I've Altered The Deal..."Comment

Re: The Order: 1886
While I originally rated it a 9/10, I lowered my score to an 8.5/10 after playing through it a second time and because I changed how I rate the games I play and complete. I'm more strict than I was before.
Still a very good game. I purchased it on release day, beat it twice and then traded it in. No regrets whatsoever. What's truly sad is that despite it being near flawless game bugs and glitches wise, it received a lower rating than AC Unity did at launch. That I simply disagree with.
As for any DLC, etc., The Order is supposed to be a trilogy but it's not yet known if the sequel has been approved or not by Sony. I imagine that it has or will be considering the amount of money that was put into the game and the franchise knowing that it's supposed to be a trilogy.Comment

so even with the strict linearity the game was enjoyable a second time through?
I guess its like watching a movie you love for the second time? more for the story?Comment

Re: The Order: 1886
It took me 14 hours the first time, just over 10 the second time since I already knew everything and the first time, I simply took my time and just enjoyed the beauty of it.
Story and characters are good. Gameplay is good and the gunplay is excellent. The main negative is that due to it being a "short" game, there's just not as much of that as you would hope or want there to be. In the end, considering other games like Unity, Halo: MCC, the Witcher 3 and countless others seem to get away with bugs and glitches, I don't understand how The Order could be rated any lower than a 7. It deserves that just for being near flawless in regards to bugs and glitches.
It's definitely worth a purchase and at least one play through in my opinion. My personal main negatives are 1) the wide screen aspect ratio which shouldn't be in any video game period and hope that it doesn't exist in the sequel if it's eventually developed, 2) the length is short, 3) little to no replay value but it's a linear game and it's rare that any linear game has any replay value, 4) no menu that tells you the items that you've collected which is mainly to get the platinum trophy I think but not sure, 5) the quick time events during certain fights...I won't mention when as I don't want to spoil it.
If you can get past the first hour or so which is very QTE heavy, then you should be able to play through the entire game. I purchased it on Feb 20th and beat it on the 21st which was a Saturday night. Granted, it was a somewhat short experience but I didn't want to stop playing and fully enjoyed the experience.Comment

Re: The Order: 1886
I would liken the game to a show on Netflix, if you binge watch, you can finish it in a day. However, you can play chunks at a time, like Netflix viewing to expand the experience. Daniel's summation is excellent and spot-on."I've Altered The Deal..."Comment

Re: The Order: 1886
Daniel and whaddup.
Thanks.
Thats the kind of stuff I like to hear for a game that got bashed so hard in the press.
I had a feeling it wasn't as bad as I was reading on websites.
Not that i take much stock in website reviews. I get my fix from the people who actually buy the game and goes in knowing the good and bad off the bat.Comment
