The only thing that died that day was Harambe and he died for our sins.

Anyway, so I don't get in trouble for being off topic, the patch notes have me excited. I'm hoping it has a smooth launch.

Yeah, he did not harm the boy at all. Not even a scratch.

It is sad that us humans lock a gorilla up in a prison (zoo), then negligent parents had their little boy climb into the enclosure, only to pummel the gorilla full of bullets, like he was on death row. And somehow it was 'safe' shooting live rounds in an enclosure with a little boy to boot?

The whole situation stinks. And it is appalling to make fun of an innocent creature, us humans have done this to.

But people want to stay internet #edgy I suppose.

        Tuesday yet??!!?

          Yea, I caught that too.

Some interesting notes from the patch that really stood out for me.

            Wow that patch. That patch......

Oh boy. My body is ready.

I wish I could just sleep until Friday

The line about planet rotation is interesting to me, does it mean they are slowing down the day-night cycle?

I'm confused about rotation too. They said play test showed players were struggling with it.

Why did no one with early copies mention any of this? Will we even know what this is exactly?

So we're more or less getting a game that is called a finished product, but it's more like an early release and we're getting the canvas that has some outlines diddled onto it, but patches will bring in more and more to the game and down the road we'll actually get closer to what they wanted? Seems that way to me. I'm not complaining about that. I actually am glad that they are planning on really making this game grow as a whole over time, but the fact that they basically waited a few days before release to let it out rubs me the wrong way. Hello Games and Sean have been a PR nightmare IMO.

From what little I saw of this in my time following the initial leak, it did seem like it changed pretty quick. Sounds like a good move

Almost every game this gen, had a day 0 patch.

Halo 5, no multiplayer without a 9GB patch... guess it is not finished... UC4 5GB check, Halo MCC (still broken) but 18-20GB check, etc., etc., etc..

But a small Indie team doing it, 'early access', 'not finished'?

What is it with this game, that warps perspective?

As Bad Philanthropy predicted, it sounds like this game is going to follow the Minecraft/7 Days to Die path of basically offering the game engine and core mechanics "out of the box" and then added all the real "bells and whistles" in post launch support. That is the vibe I am getting anyway.

Considering that guys with early copies (the first ones, anyway) have played for 60+ hours and say they are still loving it, without this first patch, that seems to bode well for me, personally.

I agree about the PR, though. For sure. I don't think they are intentionally doing it as much as they are maybe a little overwhelmed and the whole "death threats anytime something goes wrong" they are victim to maybe makes them less inclined to be transparent?

                              This is a good question.....

I was thinking of taking the notes and posting them in "spoiler free" form for those who are unexposed and blind/stayed away from the leaks this whole time. But, I guess I dunno for sure what would constitute a spoiler from person to person....

A spoiler free breakdown I can for sure give you is this:

Rest Assured: Everything Is Awesome (as far as things the patch is doing).

                                Re: No Man's Sky

This game isn't warping my perspective. It's clear that they are releasing a game that doesn't have all of the content they intend to put into it. Yes, almost every game has a release day patch. Most games just use those to fix bugs and add a little more polish. You just cherry picked a few examples of games that did more with those patches. This game is doing more than just adding some polish and fixing a few bugs and glitches. It's adding a lot of game features and laying down some framework for future updates much like all early release titles do.

I don't know why you seemed to get upset with me calling it an early release, but that's basically what it looks like to me. I already stated that I like that they will be adding more content over time and really develop the game through patches because I felt the game was too bare to begin with and now I understand why it was so bare. Sean and HG have been so in the dark with the game and it is obvious as to why now.

I also don't care if they are a small indie team. Charge AAA prices and market the game like a AAA game, then deliver a AAA product.
