    Re: No Man's Sky

Here's the video of the easiest way I have found to harvest whispering eggs. Build a box of walls around a single nest of eggs (I went 3 by 3 to ensure they all spawned and were trapped inside the box), harvest an egg and grab the larval core from inside that box, then jetpack out.

Congratulations! You now have free reign to go after every single other egg around the building.

My new larval core collecting record is now 48 cores in less than 5 minutes. After collecting the final remaining eggs inside the box, I currently have 54 larval cores sitting in my inventory, worth $5.13 million units, from a single abandoned building, all in less than 10 minutes of total work.

another quick way to earn units is when you go to a space station, go to the multi tool trader, buy a scanner module type "s". I just bought one and it gives me roughly 18,000 units for each new plant I scan on planets!

Well, I finally made my first warp jump to a new system. Boy did I get screwed. Of the three planets in this system, there's a glacial planet that is nothing but mountains up the *** (though it does have rich fauna and generous flora), a completely dead and empty airless planet that is essentially a replica of our moon, and another radioactive supercritical planet.

Finally figuring out how to get a farm going. Pretty much going to plant a bunch of two certain plants that leads to making liquid explosive. They sell for over a mill a piece.

Pretty cool once you get landing pads at your base. NPCs start landing there and you can can trade with them or buy their ships.

I’m going to make a huge farm where I am now probably and make small out posts with landing pads on planets I find later with rare resources on them.

****. This bug happened to you? Sorry man. I used to lose all my stuff playing ark to similar bugs and that’s much similar grind wise. I put the game down for a bit each time. Hopefully you decide to get back in eventually.

                  Re: No Man's Sky

Damn, I keep reading this thread and keep asking myself: "When are you going to start playing again, Blzer??"

I think what's holding me back is the amount of ambition that goes behind firing it up again. As I sift through these posts I'm reading about a bunch of different things you can do, and my issue is now that my summer is ending I simply won't have the time to do it all and I'll want to do it all. I want to invest like 50 hours into this right now and I can probably barely invest 5.

Looks good though! I'll probably fire this up sooner than later, but I won't be able to play all that much.

I know there's no right answer to this - but when should I hunker down and start building a base?

Did you guys just hop around to different planets until you found one you liked better than the rest?

I started right when I found a great location planet wise. You probably want to start sooner than later because you unlock a ton of stuff through the quest lines involving your base terminal and worker terminals.

I get this weird anxiety (only because I can't think of a better word to describe it) that I'll start too soon and end up in a bad locale or I'd build then find a cooler planet later.

I also don't want to start too late. I'm only a few hours in, probably around 6 and my buddy joined me about halfway into that so we're just kind of following the quest line for now. Obviously the goal is to get a base up and going. I guess like you said, at some point we just kind of have to to take advantage of the unlocks that help with everything else out in the universe.

You can have multiple bases so you could just start small once you find a good planet to build on then just start another base later. At least to just get your building quests going. I plan on having a couple on planets that offer different perks resource wise eventually.

200,000 units for scanning a creature also beats dealing with whispering eggs! lol!

EDIT: I think the amount of units goes up by size of the creature, just scanned a pretty large one, got a little over 389,000 for it.
