    Re: No Man's Sky

So, I can't figure out if it's a glitch or not, I can't equip my Hyperdrive into the technology slot in my ship.
However I can use Hyperdrive. Kinda odd. Not sure exactly what's up because a friend and I were doing the quest to get it at the same time and is out of his inventory and into the technology slot. Idk

Just encountered something really weird. A freighter complete with battle somehow became embedded withing the planet I'm on.

I had that same thing too. The freighter wasn't there but the small ship battle was. That alarm kept going until I flew up and helped destroy the pirates.

            Re: No Man's Sky

I had played NEXT for about a half hour a couple of times and thought the updates were great, but wasn't exactly getting sucked back in. I put in 40 hours around launch and kind of just checked in after each big update. Well, I'm officially sucked back in after what happened last night.

I finally was able to warp to another system for the first time since next. I come out of warp in the orbit of this massive ringed planet in front of a huge freighter under attack sending a distress call. I panicked for a moment because honestly the visual of all this appearing in front of me was overwhelming and breathtaking.

Anyways, I fight off the enemy ships and rescue the freighter. I go on board and this alien dude GIVES ME HIS S CLASS FREIGHTER!!!! I've since read that this is a thing that happens, but I didn't know that and I've been trying to save for a freighter, but didn't think I'd ever actually get one. Wow.

So, I had some fun figuring out freighter life and then decided to go see what planets were in this new system. Second planet I look at is my first paradise planet. Wow wow wow!!!

I'm down on this planet having fun and all of a sudden I hear "Hello?" I almost crapped my pants. An old friend of mine that I'm friends with on PS joined my game and I didn't even know it. He joined me on my newly discovered paradise planet. Unreal.

I can't wait to further explore this planet and go nuts on my freighter.

PS - I'm still using my original save and my base was gone, but that's ok because I'm going to build on this planet now anyways.

EDIT: I think the amount of units goes up by size of the creature, just scanned a pretty large one, got a little over 389,000 for it.
Wow. Where do I find this upgrade?

Space station merchant. Look for S class scanner upgrades. You can stack 3 of them.

I think what's holding me back is the amount of ambition that goes behind firing it up again. As I sift through these posts I'm reading about a bunch of different things you can do, and my issue is now that my summer is ending I simply won't have the time to do it all and I'll want to do it all. I want to invest like 50 hours into this right now and I can probably barely invest 5.

Looks good though! I'll probably fire this up sooner than later, but I won't be able to play all that much.

I also don't want to start too late. I'm only a few hours in, probably around 6 and my buddy joined me about halfway into that so we're just kind of following the quest line for now. Obviously the goal is to get a base up and going. I guess like you said, at some point we just kind of have to to take advantage of the unlocks that help with everything else out in the universe.

LOL...these two posts pretty much sum up my entire gaming existence. I want to do EVERYTHING despite not having the time and I stress way too much over big early-game decisions. Heck, I'm even nervous to pick a team for franchise modes in sports games because I don't want to pick the "wrong" team. It's the biggest reason that I usually pull in random.org to help pick. At least then it's not MY choice that was bad.

Do it! As overwhelming as the game can feel, anxiety-inducing decisions abound, it's a freaking blast! Makes it all that much more rewarding when you figure something out. Even moreso with a buddy.

                      No Man's Sky

Now that I got some bank roll it’s time to ditch these crap ships I found at wreck sites early on. I just replaced one crappy freighter for a blue A class fighter. Saved like 900 grand trading it in. No way I was repairing all those slots to increase its value. I’m done doing that.

Just gotta ditch one more C class fighter I got. Was hoping to stumble on an S class in this opulent system I just found. I’ll hang at the trading station for a bit tonight and hope to get lucky.

Edit: well that went better than expected.

Found this behemoth and quickly added it to my collection! Funny thing is I was just flying around and saw it! No distress beacon or any kind of marker. Gonna take quite a bit to get all the slots open but I think well worth it.

That looks like the ship I had immediately before my current one, except mine had 48 slots. My current ship is a 48-slot A-class hauler.

Waiting on the Xbox patch like.....

I think I was going too aggressive with the Artemis quest. I built the base and stopped at the next stage invioling Sentinels. I don’t think my guy is ready. My gun needs an upgrade, I just got a freighter and I realized that the Atlas quest is the main quest line anyway.

There’s a lot to do in this game. I hope I can play it again soon.

Yeah, that's going to be a pain in the *** to repair.

I found a wrecked shuttle and claimed it last week, but taking a closer look at the damage, it's going to cost out the *** to fix everything. I'm talking stuff like 3000 Chromatic Metal, 180 Gold, 1800 Paraffinium, 50 Pugneum, 16 Technology Modules and even more resources beyond that. It's only a Class C shuttle with 20 slots, so it's not even a good ship.

I wish they gave us a way to straight up sell ships like we can resources and inventory items. I'd rather just find busted ships, fix the launch thrusters and pulse engine, get the ship back to a space station and sell it. Anything less than a S or an A class fighter or hauler with 40+ slots, I'm not even going to bother adding them to my collection anymore.
