I decided to just go YOLO on Hard since I became pretty adept to FC3.

The hardest part I've run into so far is destroying a wolf den. I managed to blow myself up and die in the collapse two times.

Did you use the fire arrows? when i explored the den I got a molotov or something that let me do fire arrows....then i just shot the arrow inside and worked well.

Two of the three times I got one fire and explosive arrow each off the dead body in the den. The last time I only got one of them, but I was smart and was completely out of the cave when I shot it.

I just shot a regular arrow at the giant red barrel at the opening of the cave.

You know it's one of those video game things that just clicked. Habit of when you see a giant red oil drum you shoot it to make it explode.

I just couldn't get into FC3 as I kept thinking it would have benefited from better hardware. FC4 is the game I was hoping for when playing 3.

This game is stunning and smooth as butter on the PS4. I can't wait to dig into it during my long weekend.

The whole world feels so alive with all the NPCs and animals running around.

Oh, and F those damn Eagles.

Yeah, that's what i meant lol...I was trained the same way.

This game is so fun though. They took FC3 and made it better.

I enjoy the story so far too...maybe I'm not as hard on it as a reviewer, but I think I'll enjoy seeing what happens next. Either way I want to go hunting, hit towers, etc...just so much to do!

Such a beautiful game too...

Also taking a bit to get used to vehicle controls...is that new, where it's all left stick? I can see how it'll be nice eventually. Also like the auto pilot. Been too long since I played FC3 so forget those controls...

I switched vehicle controls back to classic. I never really liked using the L stick for everything, but I haven't had to do any vehicular shooting yet either.

I forget exactly where in the Controls menu you change it, but yes they can be changed.

they really seem to have appeased everyone...like the mini helicopter for example, you can get around faster and less painless although you're easier to be seen. It's really balanced though and they make it so that if you want to be less tedious, you can, if you want to take your time and scale mountains and drive up dirt roads, you can, if you want to fly the little heli - go for it.


I will repeat - USE THE MORTOR nests or you are missing out! lol

Mine was rock solid through the prologue and my little bit of time going through the mountain side.

Same with me.
Played a couple hours last night and any fears I had that they'd screw up the game were unwarranted. Going to concentrate on DA for a while but I'll know that FC4 is right there waiting for me to return..

When one of your command posts is attacked and you're prompted to defend it (as in the random karmic event, not any campaign mission), is it just a karmic event or do you lose that command post if you do nothing?

It'd be awesome if you actually lost it IMO. It'd feel more like an actual war taking place.

Eagles are absolute buttholes in this game. Why the hell is a bird one of the most aggressive enemies? They swoop down and scare the bejesus out of you when they're not ****ing with other, larger animals or innocent travelers.

I also figured out that the weapon wheel can be accessed with the touchpad. I thought my L1 was shorting out until I realized my thumb was grazing the touchpad.

Has anyone tried co-op yet?

Still playing Rogue on Xbox 360 but played the prologue last night when I came home from work.

Saw one glitch - the eagles stay frozen in the air and you can then shoot one but others will unfreeze. Other than that, no problems.

For those playing on PS4 -

Is there a day one patch for Far Cry 4? I was online redeeming the codes and nothing downloaded as far as updates/patches go.

In general, the touchpad does bring up the weapon wheel but I turned that off as that was annoying the hell out of me.

Don't like that you automatically craft a healing syringe after gathering two green plants. Would prefer to have to do it manually.

Auto drive is a neat little feature but yet, one that won't use. Of course, it being the L3 button, im sure it will happen from time to time while driving.

One other question, after the prologue, I did Amina's mission where you have to take out the wolves den. Does this mean I picked her over the guy (forgot his name)? I'm hoping that I can do all of their side missions.

Excellent game thus far and is next on my list after Rogue. Unity is slipping further down the list. LOL.
