I finally got the entire perimeter of the map and majority of the interior cleared, only took 31 days...of course a few of those were backtracking to stock up on berries, seeds and other small food items. Should finish clearing the two sections I have left of the interior next time I am on then will build a home base. Should I focus on building the stone walls or are the wooden walls enough? Definitely going to build near the beefalo and put up some pig huts around the place.

I accidently burnt a large section of forest near my home site, do those trees come back eventually or is it a total loss?

The best part of this game is dying and figuring out what to do next. I'll answer in spoilers incase you decide to not want to know.

If you plant pine cones the trees will grow back. You can also dig up the stumps with a shovel to make room, the stumps will not grow back. Remember the pine cones when the tree guard comes after you

My strategy is always to setup camp near beefalo. As the manure is essential and there's usually rabbits. Rabbits are a wonderful, never-ending food source. Traps directly over the rabbit holes is the way to go if you haven't tried yet. No need to bait them.

To ensure your hard work doesn't goto waste BUILD LIGHTENING RODS. They will save your *** from the inevitable destruction from lightening.

Walls are kind of up to you, in reality you can get by without them. Stone or wood really is your preference as you'll need to farm those mats for whatever you choose, though I'd guess stone would be stronger.

....aaand I'm dead.

While finishing checking the last section of my map late on day 31 I came upon a huge spider wreaking havoc on a small pig villiage, I thought I'd try to assist in takng it out only to get bombarded by little spiders and killed. I was resurrected by some stone I activated in the middle of nowhere but froze in the winter cold practically as soon as I spawned....on to the next try.

Had another few hour session with a buddy last night on Don't Starve Together. It is so much more fun getting set up and taking on the world with a friend. It's how this game is meant to be played.

With 2 seasoned vets it can almost be too easy, but fear not;.being too ballsy / greedy will still get you killed.

However if you add a 3rd or 4th player, especially if they're not as experienced,it really makes for a challenge. Trying to provide a constant food source and keep everyone fed while gearing up for winter is very gratifying work.

If anyone out here is still reading and playing and has this on Steam I highly highly recommend playing Don't Starve Together

You either host a world or join one. Whoever is the host is how the world is saved and only progresses when the host is on. There's tons of randoms you can join which I haven't tried, I only play with friends who I know.

Apparently like any mp game the community can be hit or miss. It's more fun than I can describe. If you end up grabbing it add me on steam.

There is PvP but I don't have experience with it. I've only played with people I know in real life so I don't know the in's and out's. I do know however that exactly what you're asking has been a problem in joining random servers.

HMMMM try chopping one of your friends heads off later and report back . lol, I just know my friends would turn this into a game of Catan if I played with them. I could see them racing to gather what they can and then trying to tell me if I want a rock I need to give them poo, in which case it would be so fun to surround their camp with trees and light a fire.

DST is still in beta on PC. Last I'd read was they want to get that 100% functional before they attempt to bring it to consoles

Having a blast playing with randoms on DST, interesting seeing the different personalities in non PvP worlds. Some are super protective of their goods while others will give anything to anyone who needs it, sometimes I haven't even asked and a random will walk up and gve me food/clothes/weapons.

Then you have people who just beg and beg for food instead of going out to find it themselves.

Also, I have a gift copy if there is someone who plays DS and wants to join in on DST, just hit me up on steam.
