I like to dabble in everything. I will do a main mission then some side missions. I usually do not set a waypoint. If I were to complete the main story first, I would never go back for the other items.

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
I dabble into everything. With Unity being that they made view points unnecessary complicated getting to the top, I gave that part of the game up. Some side missions I do, if it involves chasing or following, I avoid those, especially with the messed up free running in Unity.
With Unity, considering you need money to upgrade yourself, you have no choice really but to do at least some side missions in order to upgrade yourself. Some AC games though the story line was so good I just strictly did those because I wanted to see what happens next. It was like that for me with Rogue and AC2.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
ill tend to dabble in everything but i like to do side missions more than the main story ones, thats pretty much my approach in any game in general. if i beat the main story i wouldnt feel like doing them so by doing that i can get everything out the way

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
I get into everything. Generally I go and do the synchronization so I can see the map and then I plan my attack on different activities.
In past I would love to go and clear out all the forts/Borgia towers. I haven't gotten far enough into Unity to see what the equivalent to that is.
I usually don't go for 100% because that would just drive me mad, but the really fun stuff I generally do along with the story line obviously.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
They don't have any of that in Unity. Just strictly story, side missions, heists and club missions. In past I would love to go and clear out all the forts/Borgia towers. I haven't gotten far enough into Unity to see what the equivalent to that is.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Well I count murder mysteries as side missions. I don't think it is more, I think that being they break it up into different names, it seems like more stuff. But in reality they all really are just side missions. Just felt odd not having any fort or templar outpost to capture.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Dabble in everything, though I will usually open the map up first so I can find things as I go. So I typically climb any tower I can get to easily. Unity seems to have made that impossible. So how does everyone play AC games? I've played AC, AC2, AC3, Black Flag, and Unity. I like the series and I have fun with each title, and while I enjoy all of the content such as side missions, collectibles, etc. What is your approach to completing the game?
Do you only care about the main missions and when done don't really venture off to do anything else?
Do you synchronize the map first before embarking on the story?
Do you do a little here and there and build your way to completing the story and then go back and finish up side missions?
Personally I don't like to use the map to set waypoints and discover all of the collectibles and side missions. I like to sort of stumble on to them to some degree, but when I get to a point that I just want to complete a certain group of missions/objectives then I aim to do so.
For instance, I wanted to try and find most of the synchronization points and climb up to them on my own rather than waypoint them on the map. I did that for about half and then just started to waypoint them.
I guess my inner struggle if you will, is that I have to sort of remove myself from thinking that my character is in the particular time setting, because in actuality I am traveling back in time via dna memories in search for historical clues and therefore I should just use all of the "technology" a la our map to unlock everything.
Just curious on how some approach the robust list of things to do in these AC games...Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
I prefer this new combat system than the previous iterations. Absolutely enjoying this game.
Played a few hours of Co op last night with a mate and I noticed he wasn't the assassin I assumed he was...His arms...there was something unusual about his arms. I dare say at the time i couldn't quite tell what exactly was out of place...until he tried to pick the lock on this door. It was grotesque! Nothing could prepare one for such a show. I kept my composure and did the only thing any of us would have done and that is run through the open door first and loot the chest waiting on the other side.Last edited by 18 eighty 5; 11-20-2014, 07:33 PM.We are the music makers...Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
First thing I did was unlock the viewpoints, I didn't find them very difficult, one of the ones in a contested area was a little tricky but that was about it and I figured that one out without too much struggle.
I usually do viewpoints, some story try and clear most of the side stuff as I go, in Unity there is so much side stuff I find myself feeling almost overwhelmed where it drives me to stick to main story. I'm on sequence 7 and have a whole lot of side stuff to do so I'll probably try and just dive into that but we'll see, I'll do it even if I finish main story right off the bat so it doesn't really matter which order for me but I typically prefer saving the story for last.
I'm enjoying it though thus far.Favorite Teams:

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
What kinds of weapons are people using? I'm still really early on, but I think I'm gonna try either long weapons or heavy weapons. Just for something different.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
One handed and heavy have been my go to. What bugs me about this game is how the enemy can still shoot you when you are in a crowd of a 100 people lol

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Been enjoying using a heavy ax. The animations seem to work well with it.. I hate using a weapon that just doesn't animate well (like a pitchfork going Completely though a guy.. that just Can't happen). I tend to go back to one-handed swords when things get tough though, the speed of the swords helps me win a few battles. I've been horrible when trying the long weapons so far..PSN: jaydazzle
