Re: Rainbow Six Siege
Honestly, you're missing out. From time to time, there's issues. Some people have more, some people have less or almost none. But the game is a huge step forward for the FPS genre. It's just alot of fun. Videos don't do this game justice.

I have had issues from time to time and I keep coming back...it is fun and frustrating, but pulls you right back in. No two matches feel the same and on occasion when everything is clicking one can play for hours.Comment

Re: Rainbow Six Siege
The game is a lot of fun at times and has plenty of potential which is why I keep trying to play it, but the ghost killing due to the terrible lag compensation coupled with the hit detection just makes it hard for me to play for more than a match or two.
Last night I played one match. My first 3 deaths all were from ghosting (the guy hadn't entered the room on my screen yet I dropped down dead) which was annoying. Then I clutched a round by running into a room and killing all 3 guys and the first two said I never came in on their screen when they died and the 3rd guy said I was barely showing when he died due to the ghosting.
I knew I'd be covered by ghosting which is why I charged into the room. I hate to not recommend the game, but I can't try and sell it to anyone when I know how bad it is a lot of the time. That video I posted was not me, but is pretty much what I see every single night nearly every round.
I also had two back to back matches where playing as Blitz I had C4 thrown at my feet and shot it, got the 10 points for doing so, and then a second later was still blown up from the C4. That was extremely annoying, but not surprising given the state of the game.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Rainbow Six Siege
I might start recording if it doesn't kill my performance so I can show you all some of the ridiculousness I'm seeing. There's plenty of videos on YouTube of others and plenty of discussions on other boards about how bad this game can be. The two instances with C4 were money and I definitely wish I could share them. At least I got to keep my points.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Here's an article about the netcode analysis of the game. http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/rainbo...ind_cover.html <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vBZj4c_j9Qs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>Last edited by Stormyhog; 01-29-2016, 10:31 PM."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

If they continue to iron out the issues, this game will change or balance out console shooters. What I mean is that it won't just be about CODs frantic pace or the scope of Battlefield's action, but a more strategic team based shooter.
That's some real good variety in the future. One year can be a COD year, next BF, and then a Rainbow year.Comment

That video clearly shows how behind it is. Now imagine actually being in a competitive game where it's even more behind and now you have guys that run through doorways and shoot you, then a 1/3 of a second later are coming through the doorway on your screen and your teammate's screens. It gives peakers and aggressors major advantages.
Think about it. I charge through the door and see you immediately. You don't see me for a 1/3 of a second so I get the jump on shooting you. You react when you see me, but since it is behind I don't see you react for 1/3 of a second. Essentially I get 2/3 of a second of you just sitting there because the game is so out of sync. For a close quarters combat game that heavily focuses on angles and reactions, that's not acceptable.
Get everything synced up better like other shooters out there and this game may become my favorite shooter. It's still in my rotation, but I don't play it nearly as much as I wish I could because of these issues.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Rainbow Six Siege
This video shows how awful it is. That guy almost runs the entire full length of a van, yet it is so behind that his friend sees him still and shoots him when he's already past the halfway point of the van. The syncing of the movement in this game is just as poor as it can be really.

No question the game has issues. Call of Duty is one of my favourite FPS series of all time (BO3 is the first COD I haven't bought since buying COD 2 on the 360's launch) but lag compensation has been an issue with it since its inception, at least on consoles. Did not deter me from playing the games over the last 10 years. BF4 was an absolute mess at release and for half a year after with matchmaking and over a year after launch with netcode issues. It is my favourite single FPS of all time.
It's easy to forget and take for granted certain things but not that long ago, the COD games were basically unplayable during peak hours for weeks after release. R6S has issues but nothing that I've come across consistently enough to deem it unplayable. And I can only speak for myself, but with each patch the experience has gotten significantly better.
