Re: Overwatch
Her Ult is basically an AoE of her hack that also bypasses barriers (you do need line of sight though). It looked like the range was comparable to Lucio's break it down. So all enemies within the vicinity will be unable to use their abilities for about 5 seconds.Comment

Re: Overwatch
I'm gonna go ahead and call Sombra OP from jump street. Sounds like a nightmare to deal with.
Also, Tracer deserves an HP buff if Sombra has 200 health.Comment

I'm still in the camp D.Va needs her health nerfed by 100.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: Overwatch
I too am curious how this will affect Tracer's usage. I think she will still have more mobility overall, but Sombra does do a lot of the same things she does. I hope this doesn't render Tracer useless and instead just gives us another option for a mobile harass hero.Comment

Re: Overwatch
I still think it's kind of dumb that she isn't killed by her ult, but overall she isn't super strong. She can be very annoying, but Blizzard is actually playing around with another buff to her (increased movement while shooting on PTR right now).Comment

Re: Overwatch
Yeah she seems super strong. Fortunately the invisibility doesn't seem as broken as it sounds, and her ult is more of a support utility than a direct damage that the other offensive heroes have.

I imagine she'll be nerfed if not for completely removing tracer from the game. She is a much better, way more utility Tracer. And her cool downs are ridiculously generous. Not a fan of a hero hard countering other heroes abilities as well. It's inherently anti fun for people playing against her.
It's one of the reasons Heartstone doesn't make cards that remove other players ability to do things (like skipping turns or forcing opponents to discard cards). It's not fun to play against at all.
Hopefully we're all overreacting to this hero's kit.Comment

Re: Overwatch
Yeah my first impressions just seeing blizzcon casts is that the cooldowns are quite generous.
I think she is powerful but I don't really know that it will be op. There are plenty of characters in various mmo games who can shut down an opponents abilities and I don't think that kills the fun in this games. Plus her hacks have a 3 second cast time which is interrupted on hit (her ultimate is instant though).
I am a little concerned for Tracer, but I still think she will hold her place as a great pick. Her ultimate does more for quick damage and it synergies better with other ults like Zarya as an offensive pick. Whereas sombras ultimately will be more used to synergize for someone else to do damage .she also still hold an overall moving advantage over Sombra.
I'm excited to finally get heroes who have crossover abilities like her and Tracer. The more we have like that the more variation in team comp we will see. Imagine if we had another character with aoe heal. Suddenly you would Have to have a Lucio on your team.Comment

Re: Overwatch
I don't think Sombra sounds too powerful. She might be a pain like Mei and Tracer but nothing that can't be countered. Winston will destroy her as his tesla cannon hits her while she's invisible. She's also pretty fragile and needs to be pretty close to the enemy to use her hack and EMP.
I think every hero sounds "OP" in theory. Let's take Reaper for example. 250 health. Dual wielding shotguns. Can become invulnerable and move to healers or health packs. Can teleport almost anywhere and has a spinning whirlpool of death ultimate. On top of that he gains health from each fallen enemy. Sounds pretty powerful to me.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Re: Overwatch
Yeah one thing I'm actually kind of excited about is that she may bring make other tanks like Winston more viable. Not that Winston isn't good, but in most situations you would rather have a Reinhardt. Now that we have a mobile character who can knock down Rein's shield in 2 different ways it should open things up.Comment

Re: Overwatch
Haven't had a chance to jump on PTR yet, but watched a pretty in depth review of Sombra from someone who was at Blizzcon and makes regular Overwatch videos. His summary of her characters was that she was actually a bit underpowered, though could be OP in certain situations.
Even though her effective range is a little more than Tracers, she does not have near the burst damage. That combined with her lack of obility in a 1v1 fight really drops her usefulness.
There is almost no reason to ever hack a player since: doing so alerts them to you and you don't have the 1v1 kit to survive if you're switching to your gun while they are shooting. If you could sneak up on an enemy Reinh from above or something then it's useful, but overall not so much. Hacking healthpacks though borders on completely OP because it lasts for a full minute, a very long time in a single round, with easy refresh.
Her ult can be good in a coordinated team fight, but only if your team follows up properly.
Overall she's a good character who could bring some new strategies to the meta, but she isn't really OPComment

Re: Overwatch
Yeah I've played Sombra extensively on the PTR and she is very well balanced. She's in kind of an odd place, they put her in offence but she's kind of an offence/support hybrid. She is by far the weakest DPS in the category but she can have a ton of utility, similar to Mei in spirit, though not in function.
For example, I was playing mystery heroes and got her while defending second point on volskyia. Most of the value I provided the team was denying the right and left healthpacks that most attacking teams rely on. She's the loser of any 1v1 fight unless she has a hacked healthpack nearby, but her passive can help on cleanup on escaping or hiding enemies. I played her successfully for quite a long time until I started getting cocky and over aggressive, forcing confrontations even without an advantage. If you want to be an annoying little elimination machine, pick Tracer. Tracer's abilities have more offensive potential and she does 50% more DPS.Comment
