You might want to consider adding the Tom Savini-created Jason and the counselor clothing DLC (one is $9, the other $6). From what they've said, those won't be available after launch, they are only for early adopters.

There have been several guys that have played Jason well. Richard Brooker, Ted White, CJ Graham among them. However, in FvJ Jason did not have the right feel. Less than stellar in my opinion.

The hardcore fans expect certain subtleties in Jason's movements and how deliberate or reactive he is. It's very difficult to explain without video but Kane Hodder did it as good as anyone. There is an art to acting with a mask, without facial expressions and without words. Kane is the best to do it as Jason.

That's what I was interested to hear, thanks!

Makes sense overall though, with how much detail they're putting into everything, with that cabin....you can tell they truly care. Hoping gameplay follows.

I'm more interested in the Savini Jason but damn they are taxing for that DLC. $9 for counselor clothing options seems high, if they would of did $5 for both I would of jumped on them. Only one I still might pull trigger on is the Jason, if I can get more info from Ronnie if they won't be available post launch.

Kane just somehow was able to give Jason a personality. One of my favorite parts in the series, and this is gonna sound nuts, but in Jason X there was a scene where Jason was tied up to a vertical contraption of some sort and they zoomed in on Jason's face and you could see Kane's eye. And he blinked and moved it a bit and it was just such a subtle thing, but just gave you this feel that Jason was more than a mindless killer.

I also really liked Ted White, and Richard Brooker. CJ Graham was pretty good too. But I really liked Derek Mears in the 2009 reboot.

I have a feeling Mears will play Jason again in the new reboot. Just a guess though.

I am really tempted to become a Slasher Backer, as for $30, it can't be that bad for me to regret it. A lot cheaper than $60 if I end up not liking it. Plus like you said, the digital version may not be $30 at release. Hmm...


A few questions -(I am sure Google would help, but rather hear from you guys)

How do counselors defeat Jason? I am guessing certain weapons will be available and Jason will have a huge health meter? Do we have to "kill" him to win or is there a way to escape?

How will it be determined who is a camp counselors and who is Jason each round?

We don't have all that info yet, the one thing I can answer, the way to win is a pretty long process. You must find phone parts, repair a phone, to call the cops which then takes roughly I think they said 10 min in game time for them to arrive, which will be a random place on the map then you must reach the police. Two, you can find a car, repair a broken down car, and try to exit the map thus winning. Each counselor will have different traits to do these things, techy might be better at repairing a phone, Jock might be better at fighting off Jason, car junkie might be better at fixing a car, etc.

IIRC, Mears signed a deal to do 3 movies with Platinum Dunes when he was brought on for the 2009 movie. My assumption at the time was that those would be 3 F13 movies. I don't know anything concrete that suggests that's not still the case but I don't know for sure.

I've probably watched that new trailer 20 times already.

I haven't seen the stream from last night yet but I'm hoping there was some new information.

Any of the following would make me very happy:

A) Announcement of what the 3rd map will be

B) Closed Beta date (rumors of next weekend have been circulating all week)

C) Release date (chances of that are nil)

EDIT: I watched it and there wasn't any substantial new information.
