Finished Spider Man last night. 100% overall completion in 50 hours or so. Was leaning towards an 8.5/10 for the majority of the game but the last few story missions pushed it to a 9.0/10. What an excellent and amazing game overall. Definitely see a sequel probably in 2021 if I had to guess but that's okay. Makes it feel special when it's not on top of one another and spread out.
Enjoyed pretty much everything in the game but I do have a few minor complaints. First, since there's stealth in the game, not having a crouch button was a bad idea. Trying to do stealth standing up just doesn't look good at all especially when an enemy detects me because of it. Second, the forced stealth instant fail if detected segments. Crap is equally as bad as it was in The Order: 1886. Thankfully, it's only a handful of missions. Third and final complaint was the optional side activity content. It's mostly just filler and I must admit that im disappointed in this regard because when you think of all the villains in super hero games, why is the side content always just filler?
Was really hoping that Insomniac would have gone in a more quality and villain based direction for the side content as opposed to just filler but at the same time, im not surprised either. The "random crimes" are cool but once you do a few sets of each, it becomes a chore. Would have preferred more side missions and outposts/camps instead of the huge amount of "random crimes" that are in the game.
Overall though, I easily enjoyed it a lot more than I did Batman Arkham Knight. The visuals are superb, all the audio is excellent, gameplay is smooth, fluid and responsive. The story and characters while somewhat predictable is still very well done. Enjoyed the story from beginning to end.
Tomorrow, it's on to Shadow of the Tomb Raider as these last few months of 2018 is literally game after game after game. LOL.Comment

I have a hard time believing it's bigger than Skyrim's map. Not that I care, but just a thought. I realize I could be very wrong.

I unlocked tricks a while ago but I'm finding I'm not really ever doing them. I liked doing tricks in S2 but in this game they seem to actually slow me down a bit.Comment

When I'm just swinging around, I like to pull them off. But heading to a mission, I'm moving.
I imagine myself as Spider-Man. When there's a crime, gotta get there. No time for tricks. After beating a couple of henchmen, it's time to pull off some somersaults.
What's the most XP anyone has gotten pulling off moves? I've seen 8. Not sure if you can get higher.

You should be able to get more than that going off the ESB, Avengers Tower, or the Freedom Tower.

If you're talking about spider-man 2 on ps2 I freaking loved those tricks. I'd probably give this Spider-man a half a point higher score if it had those tricks.
The triple helix gets kinda janky near the ground. I'm not sure what the dragon roll is. Sometimes I get it if I'm down the standard roll and i'll lean a direction, other times I get it just by maintaining a spider roll.
My favorite is the shooting star.Comment

Guys, I have been taking my time, I'm at level 15 and about 36% completed and I will go on record saying this is my favorite game all time right now, I love everything about it, I know there are things others may not like, but I LOVE everything about this game. Being a huge spider-man helps, this game is perfect to me. Story amazing, graphics best around and so much fun. to play.

Before last night: These collectibles aren't so bad. I've got some landmarks, backpacks, and now research stations. Oh yeah, some Fisk hideouts, too.

I'm getting much better at combat. My only "con" is that I wish there was more everything - combos, finishers, web powers and attacks, etc. I'm still unlocking stuff so maybe some of this is addressed later in the game.
