If the instances lined up correctly and he had a bounty, you could interdict him, kill him, then take the voucher upon killing him back to the system where he was wanted and turn it into the local security office to claim the reward.

I say if the instances lined up correctly because on PC sometimes even though you'd both be in open play there were several "instances" that would prevent people from meeting up even though they were in the same system/location. It's an old MMO term. Not sure how console play in open is set to instance is all.

This also works for NPCs. You can go to Resource Extraction Sites (RES Zones) on belts in systems and scan NPCs for wanted status. Kill them to get the vouchers, turn them in at a local station and profit. If you do this I recommend starting off at a low level site. the medium and high ones the NPCs pilots are more skilled and can hit really hard. They pack a punch.

      Come at me, bro!

I have 6 days to pay it. I think I'll figure out how to get some credits before that time comes.

Its exactly like that. It should be noted that vouchers are part of your ship. So if you get blown up before you get a chance to turn in you lose the vouchers.

I played 6 straight hours of open play last night......did not get to bed till 4:30 am

The game is simply amazing. No Mans Sky is a freaking Yugo compared to this beast.

Once I got the hang of flying, landing, mining and combat.....forget it. Took me a good 2.5 hours to really get a great and natural feel for space travel on this game.

It takes commitment initially but the payoff is astounding. A marvelous Space MMO with the depth of OOTPB (a sports game depth comparison for lack of a better one) for a space simulator/universe.

So happy I purchased this game on a whim.

              Re: Elite: Dangerous

It took me a lot of frustrating minutes to finally figure out travel, and I did the tutorial.

I just couldn't understand why I kept getting a message that I couldn't jump to a system. I had been jumping before and never had an issue.

So much trial and error. So many times docking and trying to find new missions that were closer. So many searches to figure out how to increase my fuel. Looking back at it, I learned a lot about the inner workings of stations just by trying to figure out how to travel.

Finally, while studying the map, and finally figuring out how to remove bookmarks (this was another frustrating several moments), I figured out what planning routes actually meant and how I could jump from system to system to get where I needed to.

So the game has opened up for me and I've completed a couple missions and got some credits. Finally!!

                  Re: Elite: Dangerous

Just bought this a couple days ago from the Steam sale. Despite it interesting me since pre-release, the oft uttered line of "1000 miles wide and an inch deep" kept me away. Finally decided to pull the trigger though.

I have to say I'm incredibly impressed so far. The mechanics are deep yet simple, and really make things feel immersive—like you're a 1000 years in the future in some small space craft scraping out a meagre existence in this bustling interstellar reality.

Obviously the mission structure is go from point A to point B, but the scope and beauty of the galaxy is incredible.

Whereas NMS seemed like a few variations of different colored planets suspended in a system, this feels like a simulation of a galaxy down to its star systems, debris, inhabitants and their politics.

Sure, it can be dull if you're looking for a space combat sim or a mile a minute experience, or a really engrossing narrative, but if you're into throwing some music on, and exploring and witnessing some incredibly diverse and striking scenes, I don't know a game that does it better.

The first time I landed on a planet and got into the rover and looked back a my ship and the landscape around it and the celestial bodies above and beyond I felt a thrill that few games give a jaded gamer like me these days.

                              PS4 here.

Today I was shot down by Paul Gregory.

It started when I accepted a mission to find lost data that had fallen into the space abyss.

My mission would take me 3 systems away from my current location. First, I landed in a space field of space trash. Some maneuvering helped me escape without a scratch, but, ultimately, I found nothing important.

After some additional jumping within the star system suspected of holding the lost data, I received a transmission informing me that a signal of the data was found near a planet some light years away.

I quickly loaded up the hyper drive module on my ship and jumped closer to the only planet in a system with two suns.

Upon arrival, I realized the missing data would be orbiting the gravitational pull of the planet. Once close enough, quickly flying away would be out of the question while mass locked onto the planet's grasp. I entered the planet's atmosphere with hesitation, knowing that finding a source signal for the data could be an impossible task in so much space. I should have been more hesitant.

In moments I received a transmission that the data had been lost - destroyed probably, would be my guess. Instead, I flew into the nest of three pirate ships. Their demands were simple: give us some of your load or die.

I panicked and immediately attempted to escape but the planet would not let me go. Mass locked and fighting gravity, the ships surrounded me and began to fire.

It took seconds. My ship was destroyed. My load - mostly insignificant trash - lost to pirates that likely waited for the next commander to sail into their web.

Luckily, I had enough credits to repair my ship and recover the upgrades and changes installed to it. But, a notification that Paul Gregory was responsible for my mission failure will forever haunt me.

I might not have the ability to take him down today. But someday I will return to that planet, and I hope Paul Gregory is waiting because his load will be mine and I will have my revenge.
