    Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

Mouse and keyboard are obviously preferred (for me anyway) on PC almost all the time. But if it's a 3rd person game, it's way easier and more comfortable for me at least to use a controller. For any 3rd person game. Not sure why. 1st Person, m+kb without question.

I've tried a few times to play GTA V on PC with mouse and keyboard and just can't do it. I'm going to give it a try with RDR OC, but I'm guessing I'll end up using a controller as well.

No idea why that's the case for me. I'll also be procuring the new Elite Controller so that may make it easier lol.

Do any mouses provide feedback of any kind? I like when I pull the trigger that I get vibration; I don't know if that would be considered to be a good thing to have with a mouse, but it would make the weapons have less "feel" if it didn't vibrate when I shoot.

Then again, I don't know if using a controller on PC will grant me vibration as well.

I'm not 100% certain, but I'd guess it'd come down to the configuration for the controller settings for the game itself.

For instance, I know Rocket League provides feedback with a controller on PC.

Actually, what I meant was that I don't know if me plugging in a DS4 controller via USB automatically grants me vibration for PC games in general. Do I have to download something else to activate it? Just curious.

Anyway, same is true for getting hit. If somebody shoots me, I like to be able to feel it.

Can't speak to the DS4 as I use an Xbox One controller and Microsoft wireless USB dongle.

Since the controller is capable of vibration, I'd still think it'd be up to the controller support for the game itself. I'm just guessing though I really have no idea.

I just loaded up Witcher 3 on PC and the PS4 controller vibrated during gameplay. The program I used for the PS4 controller on PC is called DS4 Windows.

The same way I'd play any other game, I'm not sure I fully understand the question. Using a mouse and keyboard is 99.9% of the time far superior to using a controller, especially with any sort of shooter.

Does anyone know if our players will transfer over to the PC online like they did for GTA? I have still yet to see this answered, but if we are going to be able to transfer our online characters over then there is zero reason for me to purchase the more expensive edition of the game as my character will have those bonuses from my PS4 pre-order.

I haven't heard anything about carry overs, but there is no normal edition for sale using the Rockstar launcher. The Special and The Ultimate edition or whatever it's called are both $20 dollars off, so the Special Edition is the price of a normal game. $60

The preload file size is 109G if anyone was curious. I'm guessing it's compressed or there is more to download at a later date because it says you need 150G free space. Also, it took me just about an hour to download the preload at 24MB a sec.

All indications are no carry over. Like you said though, haven't seen concrete, official word on it, so who knows.

I think you'll be able to get get the Standard version through steamy, but still going to cost the same as the discounted versions via R*.

Yea, I was talking relative to the Rockstar Launcher. If there is carryover then there is zero reason for anyone like me to go for the $80 version since all of that content already came with my PS4 pre-order. The $80 is the one with the online bonuses. The $60 is only SP content.

I ended up just going the $60 route anyways. If there is no carryover then no biggie. I can earn everything I want and if I don't then it just means I didn't play the game as much as I expected which means saving the $20 was the right move anyways.

Not sure what needs to be spoilered and not (on account of PC release) so to play it safe, in regards to the Epilogue:

                                Spoiler

Also, once more for the people in the back: Gambler Challenge 8 was the worst. It was bad enough to make me give up on 100 percenting the game for about half a year. Finally buckled down and completed the challenge this weekend. Feels like I've got new life.
