So far I've only seen one person try that and Itnwas last night. The result was me and a few other randoms chasing him down multiple times til he just went away. Everyone else I've encountered online on PC has waved and went their way.

Vulkan has been running better for me than dx12. I'm using a 2080 and I have better average and minimum frames. I was able to complete a few missions last night without crashing. On dx12 I crashed every single time when enteriglng valentine for the first time.

It is different for me, Vulkan does give better FPS by a few but frame pacing not as good as DX12 and VUlkan also has some graphical issues from time to time that I do not get on DX12

If Vulkan is fixed it will be the way to play

I didn't realize how much work they did to online. These roles are ridiculously fun. I put 100+ hours into Online on PS4 before any of this stuff was even in the game. I'll probably put a lot more than that into this now on PC with how much content there is in it now. R* has really started nailing it down with Online lately. Even GTA Online has finally gotten content that has me enjoying it for it and not just to dick around in. They've learned and knocked it out of the park immediately with RDRO, imo.

These pictures really don't do the game justice. It is so good looking and I'm only running with a few things on Ultra and everything else on high(sans water physics, near volumetric, and reflections all being on medium) in 1440p. I am jealous of anyone that is running a more powerful card and able to run it pretty much mostly all Ultra at 1440p.

What are you running with? I’ll be on an i9-9900k with an RTX 2080Ti.

EDIT: Nevermind, found your specs. Yes, I too will be on 1440p, but also have a 21:9 display.

I see your edit, but just for anyone else wondering I'm on an it 8600k OC'd to 4.8ghz, a 1070ti OC'd, but don't remember to what exactly, and then 16gb DDR4.

I get a 45+ fps average on my current settings which is enough for me with this type of game. Good balance of beautiful graphics and smooth enough frames.

Yeah, specifically these are my parts:

                  - Intel Core i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
                  - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
                  - Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB ROG Strix Gaming OC Video Card

I've never done PC gaming when it comes to optimization, for I'm wondering for people who have a similar build what kinds of things I'm looking to do for 1440p 21:9 SDR gaming (and achieving 60 FPS).

                    Re: Red Dead Redemption 2

I'd imagine that given your GPU you'd probably get 60fps using the same settings I do and maybe even going a bit higher. Of course, with how this launch is, nothing is guaranteed performance-wise, but the last two patches have seemed to help a lot with the performance the game.

The settings I am running right now.

When you use TAA it adds blur. Almost like your eyes are out of focus. With Nvidia GPU's you can enable sharpening through the Geforce experience by hitting alt f3. TAA medium with the slider maxed + FXAA on + the sharpening tool gets the AA under control and clears thing right up. You can see for yourself. Everyone is gonna be different but somewhere between 40-60% sharpening should do the trick.

Basically, crank up everything as high as it will go, but leave reflections at medium, water slider half way and possibly grass shadows on medium instead of high. That would be a good place to start.

Yep, this is what I'm doing. It'd be a muddy, blurry mess without the sharpening filter through nVidia. I've got mine around 85%, though.

Weird. When I hit alt plus f3, it says a supported game is needed to use this feature. RDR 2 is installed. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I have similar game settings as cane but have grass on high and grass level of detail about 3/4ths filled. I'm on 2080 and i7 8700 getting between 60-70fps, rarely dips below 60 on 1440p. 9900k and 2080ti should be able to crush it if playing on 1440p as well.
