As great as it looks on console, it really shines on PC if your rig can handle it. Totally biased opinion as an admitted R* fanboy, but I'd recommend it if you've got the cash and want to experience it on PC.

I double dipped without hesitation so take my opinion with a grain of salt lol.

But as far as the launcher/game goes, I've only had maybe 2 issues since launch, it's otherwise been super stable for me. Seems like they're hit or miss, so it's hard to say if you'll have any issues. Just throwing it out there that not everyone has had a bad experience.

I have a RTX 2080 ti and i9 9900k on a 1440p ultrawide. Some of the benchmarks I've seen are insane. I did play it on my One X and thought it was good. What kind of performance are you getting?

      Damn, you're golden then.

I've a 1080ti and i5-8400 at 1440p. I'm in the 50s FPS wise in the story and 40s online with a mix of settings, but most high/ultra. Still looks amazing to me.

With those specs you should be solid.

I gonna buy it. I really didn’t do much on the console version. I just ran through it. I’ll take my time and enjoy it this time.

I have the same. Curious what you’re aiming for. I’d like to keep 55-60 FPS, so what I’m running right now is doing that but I want to know if I’m besting my output at the same time.

I just want a decent balance. This game looks so amazing and yet so difficult to run at decent framerates. I'm use to playing everything over a 100 fps and feel like 50-60 will feel more like 30 fps.

            Hopefully I'm wrong.

Oh psh, I didn't read your previous posts. Sorry. Yeah I'll have to upload some video of what mine looks and runs like. I can do that for a second soon if you'd like (I literally just saved at the start of Chapter 2, so I'm nowhere still).

EDIT: Meh, just tried to capture video and the framerate on the capture didn't match the appearance of the framerate I was playing with, despite it showing a similar framerate. Going to have to seek an alternate approach.

I think my biggest concern would be stuttering. If I only knew a year ago when I got my PC the work it would take to get games to run smoothly, I’d think twice. Some games run better with V-Sync and without, some with G-Sync and V-Sync together, it’s crazy. I guess I could play this game at a smooth 50-60 FPS without stuttering.

When I was capturing footage and was riding on horse through a couple of areas, some places would stutter for a brief moment, but to me it seemed more like areas were loading or something and that it may not have been framerate-related. Maybe detail-related, though. Not sure.

Also, some trees would randomly like pop into an animation. Hard to explain. I don't know, I haven't really played on PC too much yet.

I have most of the games I play regularly on my Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB and it helps a lot in games with pop in. I’ll be sure to report back this evening when I get a chance to play it.

Gotcha. I have a Samsung 860 Evo 1TB SSD, so it sounds like you have me beat by a hair there. It appears our setups are very similar though, so hopefully what you hear from me should be about reasonable what you could expect.

I'm also using some NVIDIA filters, by the way. Will that alter game performance at all?

I was shocked how good the game ran. I tested it on both Direct X 12 and Vulcan using some optimized setting I found online. I was getting around 90 FPS after changing a few graphics around. Absolutely no stuttering.

I had to find a ultra wide fix since my monitor is 3440x1440 and I hate the black bars. I also use Nvidia filter and reshade and no performance issues based on the few filters I tried. Well, the global illumination reshade filter destroyed the frame rates but it’s some RTX filter I’ve messed around with.

I thought the game looked incredible.

The filters should only slow you down 2 or 3 frames a second at the very most unless you're doing something ridiculous with them lol.

I'm furious at Rockstar since they basically killed the Trader roles online since the last patch, which literally causes no animals to spawn at all unless the lobby had less than 14 people, and they made sure all lobbies fill fast

The last straw was me hunting Buffalo, and mid scope with my rifle it despawns...all because a posse of 2 joined in and made the lobby have 16 people. Aggravating. Gonna go back to single player once I finish my NG+ replays of Witcher 3 and Horizon
