Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Bought on release day (2018). Just finished it yesterday. Combination of being busy and having two kids in between, haha. But wow. What a game! Best I have ever played.
I can’t even imagine what they will be able to come up with for the next version, or even GTA.PS4 | jamiedallaireComment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I finally got into this after having pre-ordered it and leaving it sit for years, lol. I loved RDR 1. This one, I was a bit overwhelmed with the reality of it (you have to eat and sleep?), but I'm getting the hang of it. I imagine the depth here is something you appreciate once you get used to it. I reckon I'll head into Valentine and get a haircut.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
You don't really have to manage it that much, imo. Maybe I have a playstyle that matches the demands of the games well, but I basically sleep and save the game when it gets to night time everyday in game, either at the main camp, a camp I setup, or a hotel, and then I eat whenever I wake up and then again if I get hurt or use any deadeye.
It's not something you have to keep an eye on at all times, though. You can essentially get away with eating one item a day and going to sleep once every couple of days and you'll have no negative impacts on Arthur's ability.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I'm not solid on the controls yet, so I ended up pulling my revolver out and almost shot a guy in Valentine. Deputy comes after me, I surrender and spent a night in the clink. Now the whole town is like "don't be startin' any more trouble, mister." And all I wanted was to get a haircut and go to church! I did get to pet a dog though, so there's that.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Heads up for PC players.
There’s a couple of new mods that FINALLY address the memory issues causing unavoidable stuttering and frame skipping.
I had to give the game up when I got to Saint Denis because of these issues, so I’m looking forward to jumping back in eventually.
It’s ridiculous that it has gone this long without any support from R*, but I’ll take what I can get from the mod community at this point. Looks like it’s a pretty simple fix actually…
Anyways, check it out on nexusmods if you’re interested.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
If anyone knows my history with this game, I spent about 200 hours with this on PS4 before getting this on PC and restarted. Not sure how far I am now time-wise, but really pressed pause on this game (and every game) for a couple of years.
During this summer I committed to return to this game, not to beat it but to continue its progression, and boom... concussion. Then I started to recover for the past month, and then a concussion on top of my concussion.
I'm not going to say I'm lucky to be alive, but one thing for certain is now the last thing I can do is play this game after waiting so long.
Anyway I don't know what support for this game you're referring to unless they ever planned on adding Mexico in full, but for me the game has always otherwise been pretty complete. I don't play RDR:O though.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

That sounds pretty awful. I hope the symptoms don’t keep you down for too long.
I think the the game was near perfect on release, but it’s a damn shame that console players are stuck at 30fps. I feel like some minor graphical upgrades and a frame rate boost wouldn’t be asking too much…

And gotcha. Perhaps I'm spoiled playing it now on PC that I forget what it was like on console. Now I'm playing 1440p ultrawide at 60 FPS, if not more. Most all graphical settings are maxed out. Game looks beautiful.
One reason I kind of wanted the restart was because I suffered the camp glitch at the time. Unfortunately I invested so much in that save that I don't think I'm anywhere near that again, exploration-wise. I've still never visited Saint Denis in either time I've played (except for one night when I dropped off an injured patient, but I left there immediately). Like I think I'm only in Chapter 2 right now, and I only went as far as Chapter 3-4 last time.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

What’s funny, is there are plenty of people I’ve seen on Reddit that replay the game multiple times over, but they only go as far as Chapter 4 and then just live in the game for as long as possible. I was kind of surprised when I saw a consensus around that kind of replay, but I get it.
I’ll have a pretty decent upgraded pc soon, and I hadn’t really considered an ultra wide monitor, but the idea of this game in the open plains on that kind of display sounds amazing.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
I'm replaying the game on PC (looks absolutely stunning compared to the PS4 version).
Whereas before, I was quickly working my way through the story, this time I'm trying to do all the side quests and hunting challenges and shooting for a 100% playthrough. This game is so damn immersive.
Got to chapter 4, but am now focusing on doing all the side stuff before progressing with the story.Comment
