I have a hard time blaming the user for cumbersome design choices, button mapping, and menus. Regardless of the amount of hours he or she sunk into the game.

I couldn't stand the weapons disappearing back into your horse. That drove me up the wall. I'm on horseback, I have a shotgun and a rifle in my two weapon slots, I get off my horse and my two slots are empty. So infuriating, especially in the heat of battle where you run from your horse and learn after the fact that you're stuck with just your revolvers.

Plus having the re-arm an advanced bullet over and over again when I never disarmed it and went back to regular bullets. There should be an option to choose your default bullet type, per weapon or universally.

I can see why some people didn’t like the switching characters aspect of it.

Opinions are funny. I thought GTAV was pretty, but thought a lot of things took steps backwards from even GTA IV. The missions had more variety to them, but there were hardly any missions in the game at all. GTA V actually makes me worry that GTA VI won't be what I thought the series would be by now which sucks because GTA was always my favorite series for the longest time, but the HD era has not matched the SD era in terms of fun and intuitive gamplay.

        That’s one I’m not sure I follow.

I'm still not sure what people are messing up on with the controls, but I am genuinely curious to hear. Practically every interaction in the game has a prompt to tell you what to press.

Agree 100%. Having to switch my bullet of choice over and over made me eentually stop using any special ammo. Huge oversight to not let you have it stick to what you last used.

I’m not even talking about this game but any game in general.

Think about how much sense that makes. You’re putting in THAT much time with a game and you still can’t remember the controls? How you do continue to enjoy it or even continue playing it if you have to constantly remind yourself “Damn, how do I open up this can of beans again?”

Someone help me understand that part because I’m not following.

A game’s convoluted design choices can lead to confusion in the heat of the moment. Effectively hampering the experience.

It seems the people that didn't like the game are WAY more defensive than the one's who enjoyed it.

To come and post your opinion is one thing. But to keep the battles going by arguing and rehashing the same negatives over and over shows more than just your opinion.

I haven't played online in months. It looked like it was going to turn the way of GTA Online so you can count me out on that one. Had fun playing it at first, but it lacked so much content and what I've seen added since doesn't interest me as much. I basically used it as a hunting and fishing game.

I beat the game once about a month after it came out and got to around 92% completion.

Deciding if I should give it another go from the beginning. It's a great game. Definitely. And knowing the story will let me explore the small things more this time around.

I'd love a game with that kind of depth but with Mordor combat.

P.S. I finished the game and both Epilogues. I'm now completing a bunch of side missions and generally just having a blast living in this world.
RDR2 is my fav game of all time.
Oh man, a Witcher game with a Mordor Combat system would most certainly be the bees knees!!!!!
