I'm getting close to wrapping up the game. Could be today but if not, definitely tomorrow. Will explain when I complete the game.

Well at the moment I've taken it slow and in Seattle. My holy **** moment was ruined because I had to stick my big nose in areas I shouldn't have. I'm immersed in this dangerous world with the unknowns and hopefully unexpected horrors I come across. I'm still learning the two protagonists personalities and who they are now.

Re: The Last of Us Part 2 (PS4)

Finished it today, took a little over 30 hours on my play through.

Honestly not sure how I feel yet, with TLOU I knew immediately upon finishing it that I loved the game and it is still one of my favorite games of all time. With this one I legitimately don’t know if I liked it or disliked it yet, definitely had aspects I both liked and disliked, I’ll have to think about it some more before I decide how I feel.

Re: The Last of Us Part 2 (PS4)

Finally completed TLOUP2 in 44 hours, 10 minutes. Played on Moderate difficulty with the AI settings as is. Enhanced Dodge on. Weapon Sway off. Damage/Enemy Indicators off. Motion Blur/Camera Shake set at 0. Field of View/Camera Distance set at 5. Camera/Aim Assist off/0. Lock on Aim/Strength off/0. Hints/Dodge Prompt off. Full Screen Effects off. Sensitivity was set to 3. Pretty much everything else stayed at default. Only used Listen Mode once which was during the tutorial. Never used it again.

Story/characters and overall rating are in the spoiler tag. Do NOT read if you haven't completed the game.

          VISUALS - 10/10 (superb)
Not much needs to be said here. Outside of some pop-in, the entire game looks amazing with great detail and animation.

          AUDIO - 10/10 (superb)
Excellent sound effects, voice acting and music.

GAMEPLAY and COMBAT - 9.0/10 (excellent)
Loved the combat. Especially melee which is brutal, visceral and in your face. Perfect for me. Stealth was great but they should have added more stealth kill animations. Gunplay is good. Some weapons better than others. Felt clunky and stiff at times. Upgrading your character is good but I wasn't happy that the abilities are spread out. For example, I had to upgrade Listen Mode at least twice to get to the upgrade I wanted which was annoying because I don't use Listen Mode. Enemy AI was overall excellent. Companion/Partner AI was fine at best. If anything, they were in the way most of the time. Worst part is that the Enemy AI still does NOT detect your companion/partner just like in the first game. Level design and enemy encounters were great for the vast majority of the game. Good action sequences. Going prone and being able to shoot and dodge while on the ground was definitely good. Underwater sections and puzzles were very good overall. A few good jump scares actually got me which is extremely rare. Pacing was great at times but also poor at times. Game went too long though in my opinion.

I've seen this criticism from those who have finished or have started and it's really annoying...as if it's a personal grievance vs. a plot hole:

                *Spoilers for the Jackson chapter*

I get it, you don't like the game, you have issues with some nebulous "agenda" from the director and devs, but let's be intellectually honest with each other.

Gameplay wise, awesome again. Graphically looked good, some scenes spectacular. Sound was great, so intense every step of the way. So much good about the game, even if you didn't love the story, don't get the overally negative reactions some people have said. "4/10...I mean I finished a 25-30 hour game in 3 days but 4/10" lol Story, I can nitpick some pacing, but I really liked it.

                  Story specifics below...

I have been wanting to say what you just said for a few days. The finish the game quick but give it a 4/10. Don't want to offend but that makes no sense.. if I finish a game its cause I enjoyed it and the GAMEPLAY kept me engaged. I have literally never finished a game I didnt enjoy.. I mean I've probably finished 4 to 5 games at most in the whole ps4 era.

I’ve beaten every game I’ve played so I’m not sure how what you said makes sense?

Maybe for some they liked the game until the ending since the ending isn’t the greatest.

Seemed like they forced themselves to sit through a 4/10 game. Even games you didnt enjoy at all? That really doesnt make sense to me but its fine.

You can find some sort of enjoyment on even the worst games. At least for me I can.

Yea definitely not me. If a game doesn't grab me early then I'm out. This game may have the best combo of graphics sound and art ever in video game.. definitely helps with immersion.
