I did it as you stated, I have the Linksys wireless bb router connected to my PC in my bedroom, in my living room I have my X-Box live wireless adapter connected to my X-Box.

I put the damn disk in my X-Box that came with my wireless adapter, yet my PC isnt sending any signal to my X-Box or vice versa.

I know my channel is 6, I also know it is a 802.11b

    I am stuck........help

a few things to check. First, connect the adapter to your router and see if your pc and the network see the adapter. This will tell you whether the adapter works or not. Second, and i dont know if this is for all game adapters, there might be a switch that allows you to go from regular cable connection to crossover cable. Make sure that yours is set to 'the correct one. ( i know my wet11 has that switch)

if you can get to the adapter when you connect it to the router, i would recommend assigning it a static ip. I have seen many instances where having a dynamic ip address for the adapter/bridge/ap will make the connection go down/not work at all.

third, put the adapter back in the living room and see if you can "ping" it or access it by typing in its web address in your browser. What you are trying to do now is to see if you can get to the adapter. If you can, then you know your problem is with your configuration on the xbox.

Let me know if you have any questions.

make sure to turn your router "on". By that, what you need to do is go into your config setup and turn on:

        Wireless SSID Broadcast: Enable Disable

        that.

I went through 3 network bridges before i realized I forgot to turn the damn thing on for broadcast.

when you say you have the router connected to your pc, I just want to make sure that your cable modem (or whatever) is connected to the router, and then the pc also connected to the router. You have to have the router between the cable modem and all things that wish to get at the internet. Again, don't want to seem like I'm talking down, just usually simple things tend to be the problem, I do the stupidest programming mistakes that make me look like a rookie once in a while.

If your PC can get on the internet through the router, then you know it's doing wired routing at least (assuming that you're plugging your PC into one of the router's ethernet ports). Then you'd want to make sure that the wireless aspect of the router is broadcasting, your manual should tell you how to log on to the admin portions of the router, they have a web interface.

Once that's done, you should just be able to have the access point talk to the router, and pass stuff back and forth from the xbox.

there is also a whole other thing to worry about after you get everything running, and that is securing your network, You want to secure your wireless lan so others cant connect to your network and cause mayhem ( from a laptop, etc). So i suggest AFTER getting everything set up to learn about encrypting ( or using MAC identification) to secure any wireless devices that are trying to connect to your network.
