    Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)

I am simply blown away. I am still in act 1 and I already know that this game may go down as my all time favorite non sports game.

    Ever.

And I will play it again on the PS5 someday.

    Simply incredible.

I'll have to give it another go. Found it to be rather boring about 3/4 way through act 1. Other then combat it doesn't seem to bring anything different or new to the table.

I didn't finish one of the side quest and I believe that's the only thing keeping me from the platinum trophy. The bad news is my cousin traded in the game and I don't want to buy it as I'm not ready for a full play through again. I'm really wanting to see how this looks on my oled and ps5.

Bought this a long time ago, but saved it for PS5. After finishing some other games first, I finally started this the other day. I think I'm 6 hours in so far. I've only progressed the main story a few times so far, but I've spent most of my time going to random places on the map and exploring. This game is definitely amazing, and it runs so well on PS5. Just a beautiful game, and the combat is done so well. Kind of pissed I waited so long to play this now lol, but that's OK I'll be playing this for quite some time. I've gone from being overwhelmed with all of the games I was playing on PS5 and Series X, to just fully devoting my gaming time to this game. It's so good!

Finished this last night. I think my file is at 46 hours, and I'd say I need another 1-2 to clean things up and get the platinum, which I'll definitely do.

This is definitely an amazing game, so I don't want to be selling it short at all...but I don't think it cracks my top 3 from the PS4 gen. I did play this on PS5 and it runs/looks so damn good on it. However, I'd still put TLoU Part 2, Horizon, and Days Gone ahead of Ghost. I might even put Spider-Man ahead of Ghost on my list.

I guess the one thing that made me put it that far down, was at times I felt like I was getting burned out on this game and had to put it down for a day or two. A lot of things felt very repetitive at times.

But yea, the story, cinematics, and gameplay in this game are just amazing. I don't want to come across as I didn't like this game, I love it and I wouldn't be chasing the platinum if I didn't lol. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't finished it, but I'd love to see some discussion on the ending. Maybe that's already happened, time to dig through this thread.

I have slow burned it a little more than you as I am 56 hours in and about to embark on the last mission on the second island.

I too am going to gun for the platinum on this gem.

It is in my top 5 on PS4 along with TLOU2, Horizon, RDR2 and I need to pop in Spiderman next before making a final top 5 for this gen.

I have ate up the entire samurai world. I also loved samurai films etc as a kid so this really scratched that itch big time.

If you like this game Netflix has a show that’s new called age of samurai. I’ve watched a episode of it and while not connected to the game it’s good. A unique presentation of documentary and action scenes. So if you liked the game might want to check it out .

I did do the side mission with the big guy you meet in act 2 as I was ready for a break. Now I really want to play it but my cousin traced the game in

Nice! Definitely an awesome game. I felt like the platinum was great too, as you don't need to play through the game multiple times to get it. There was one trophy I never would have gotten in a million years without looking up how to get it, but I felt all of the trophies were fair. I've never been into samurai stuff, but I might have to check out this Netflix thing that georgiafan mentioned. I also saw that 2 guys associated with this game, maybe the writers or something, have been named official embassadors of the island of Tsushima since they did such an amazing job with this game, and also exposed people to the history of the island.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)

About top 5 ps4 exclusives I would go like this.

                    1. Horizon zero dawn- A great new IP great graphics and looks great. Fighting the different creatures is to much fun. The frozen wilds DLC is great to adds some new creatures and I would say is even more fun then the new game.

                    2. Ghost of Tsushima- Great new IP, killer soundtrack, really fun combat with the different stances you can do. The best looking game on ps4. The way you find things with the wind is very cool and different.

                    3. Spiderman- I love spiderman and insomniac games and we had not had a even good spiderman game in like 7-8 years before this. Game is similar to the batman Arkham games when it comes to combat but more dodging instead of counters. Great soundtrack and a great emotion story with a lot of villains.

                    4. Ratchet and clank- Love the ratchet and clank games and I fell like this one gets to much hate. I am glade that rift apart is going to be a completely new game and story though.

                    5. GOW 2018- I never played a GOW game outside of this one but had a lot of fun with this one. The whole like one shot camera with cut scenes is something I would love to see in other games. I started replaying this with the ps5 patch a few weeks ago but I have not gotten to far yet.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)

I restarted the game since I hadn't played since August and had been itching to play it again. On paper the the game feels simple, especially once you step back after playing it; however, everything builds together towards a unified culture and philosophy that just makes the game so damn appealing and so easy to lose copious amounts of time running through vividly colored forests and open fields of swaying grasses. So while the base is somewhat simplistic - it all intertwines and overlaps and creates a dense lattice for a truly exceptional experience.

I'm still in Act One and have completed the tales (to this point) for Ishikawa and Lady Masako. I'm running around with the traveler's attire (with Oni straw hat) and switch to the clan samurai armor typically when needing to clear Mongol territory points. I'm not sure if this was added in later, but being able to have a charm loadout tied to each outfit is great. I currently have three of the stances unlocked and have done one of the Mythical Tale quests (Heavenly Strike - which was a badass duel and overall fantastic mission). Overall this really makes me want to read Musashi https://www.amazon.com/Musashi-Epic-...8856026&sr=8-5

Is Legend mode co-opt only or am I able to tackle those missions solo?

The legends mode there is a 2 player store type of thing you can go threw its not much of a story more just a voice over stuff going on and I think you can play it solo but I am not 100% sure on that but might be hard by your self. There is also a 4 player survival mode where you go threw waves of enemies.

Yeah like smallville said it’s co-op but you can technically complete some of the missions solo. They can be really hard though depending on the difficulty level.

Hit me up on PSN if you want to do some. I’ve been looking for a reason to get back into this game.

                          Loved it

I really want to do the 4 player raids but you cant do match making on the raids.

So I beat the game several months ago had started a second play threw trying to 100% the game has I basically only did main stuff on first play threw. I got a little burned out and got into playing some other games. I started from where I left of on that second play threw on new game+. I am now on act 3 and have done a lot of the side stuff and on this play threw trying to 100% the game I have put about 92 hours has this is around a 100+ hour game to 100%. Its my second favorite ps4 exclusive behind only Horizon and ahead of my 3 that is spiderman.

This was probably already discussed and I need to review the thread, but what outfits were you guys running around in? What charm loadouts were you utilizing?

I wish there was a quicker way to switch outfits considering some of the buffs you get with some of them and since you can assign different charms to each set. I run around and do most of the random Standoffs with the Travelers (red) outfit w/ Oni straw-hat and the Spring Bambo sword kit. If I want to use my bow I switch off to Tadayori's (seablue) outfit since I have about half of my charms buffing archery (Seademon's wings swordkit). For general combat (typically when clearing outposts and strongholds) I've been switching to Samurai Clan complete with helmet and mask (Immaculate Warrior w/ Prowling Tiger swordkit).

I'm still in Act 1 with two main Tales to complete so figure there's a handful of outfits left to get.

I'm definitely enjoying the additional side challenges/quests that popped up in Act II. The new duels and "retaliation" of the Mongols. Great touch to continue fleshing out the world and tie it back to the narrative.
