So much of this blasphemous talk against the Witcher. I need to speak to a manager about these outrageous takes.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
I think it’s fair to say you don’t like Open World games Johnny lol. I get it. There can be a lot of fluff and the story line suffers as a result. But I loved both Ghost and AC Odyssey. The combat was just fun. I can’t say that about the Witcher as the combat was boring and repetitive and a game killer for me. Tried that game twice and it remains one of the most over rated games of all time for me.
What does that mean? I have no idea. I just like what I like and don't spend time on things that don't grab me. I am intrigued to run Ghost again after the feature drop and if I get a PS5 and they add more prettiness.
Then again, Cyberpunk is a few weeks away (finally!).

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
He isn't wrong about AC, though. Sometimes you have to forget or ignore those blatant bad design choices to enjoy the game.
Horizon's open world was a lot more interactive since you had robotic dinosaurs and human enemies roaming around. Not to mention the gameplay and various tools and strategies you can come up with were seemingly endless. I don't get the same feelings when I play Ghost.

I wonder why Sony hasn't talked about this game on the PS5. I wanna know if there's gonna be an update to the game and if its gonna look and play better on it.Comment

You can also transfer saves.
I think the way they specified up to makes me wonder a bit about how it's going to perform, but it may just be them saving their own tail.Comment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
being able to transfer saves in this game is huge with how long it took me to finish it. I want to be able to immediately jump into new game + on my 2nd play through that way I can skip all the side stuff this go around.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 Exclusive)
I have cleared out the first island and am just about to start the story of Act II.
I have a hard time feeling like this is anything other than a slightly worse AC clone. The combat is slightly more interesting than recent AC games with the different stances, but you are pretty OP once you get upgraded gear, charms, and armor.
The story is alright so far, it makes me want to continue just enough that I'll definitely finish the game. It also seems like it'll be super easy to platinum, so I might actually end up doing that because I have actually somehow never earned a platinum trophy. Mostly because I don't really do online multiplayer.
Side stories attempt to be compelling, but are just your average (run here and kill these people - and cutscene) side missions. I mean I get it, but The Witcher spoiled side quests for every other game so much, it's ridiculous.
The world looks really good, but something just seems 'missing' that I can't put my finger on. I don't expect bustling towns on a tiny group of islands off Japan, but it's weird how you can come across a settlement as you're exploring that is totally empty. Then later it's magically a Mongol outpost. And finally after you clear it, people appear from thin air.
SpoilerI think they missed a massive opportunity for some kind of meter based on how much you go against your teachings that affects more outside a scolding here and there from your uncle or flashback. Maybe there's more to come later? But I thought I read somewhere that it literally doesn't matter how many people you dishonorably stab in the back.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 10-12-2020, 04:06 PM.Comment

I got the platinum too. You have to find a lot of extra things but you can use the wind for that. Good luck!Comment

I am liking the story missions of Act II. I am coming up to the end of that. The side story arc with the old lady from your home village stands out as the best side story so far for me.Comment

I just got through Act 2 and the end of Act 2 through the beginning g of Act 3 I thought was very powerfully written. Really got me stoked for Act 3 because I was getting tired of doing all the side missions as there was almost too much as it seemed repetitive to me.
I always enjoy taking down the Mongolian camps though.

Exactly how I feel about the side missions at this point. They could have cut between a quarter and half of the character missions and most of the random ones. It’s not like you were ever hurting for charms. I even have some duplicates. I am at the same exact spot in the main story as you.Comment

Imagine thinking AC Odyssey is better or as good as The Witcher 3.

New Game + does not give you any Supplies from your old save. You keep your armour and upgrades although there are some new upgrades for your gear. But I have no arrows or bombs. I feel naked!
My son was playing the new coop stuff and said it’s really fun. I will try and play it tomorrow.Comment
