    Lethal is nice but I’ll keep at hard for the rest of the game.

    Anyone else make sure they got the right armor before a big battle? I swear I spend 5 minutes make sure I get the right armor, mask , sword, bow combo before I take over.

    Duels I love rockin the white ronin with the haunted dreams mask and black or red straw hat.

    Big groups Kensei armor, black or white with the straw hats.

    I’ve never changed my outfits so many times in a game. I can never just stay with one for a long time.

      I wore the traveller's attire exclusively until 1 particular battle in act 2. I play on normal difficulty though so nothing has really been challenging. I'm going to change to lethal now though. One of my complaints about combat was how enemies were basically bullet sponges, especially the brutes which never really felt like a real samurai
      I'm fine taking more damage as long as I can also finish people off faster.

      I've definitely slowed down since act 2 started. I probably played too much the first week and burned myself out a bit. The game is still awesome, but I'm looking forward to completing it. It probably doesn't help that I go find and do all of the side quests.

        Does the options menu have a section which shows total playtime?

          Unfortunately I don't think it does.

            No doubt this game is awesome, I'm just struggling to get real into it like I did with The Last of Us 2. That game really spoiled me in terms what can be achieved with the presentation and story of a game. So going from TLOU2 to Tsushima is a bit of a step back in that regard. I feel like I'm subconsciously nitpicking things without even realizing it while I play.

            I've had it for about a week and I'm only about 7 or 8 hours in. Hopefully I come around to it and finish it out because no doubt it's a gorgeous game and the combat is awesome, I'm just having a hard time really sinking my teeth into it.

              Just got the game last night and love it so far. Two things really stick out to me. One being the quest guidance system and the lack of a traditional quest compass/mini map. I think it's about time someone came up with a system that is more immersive yet helpful enough to keep players from getting lost. Clears up clutter on the UI and makes you rely on your surroundings and the map. This game really brings 13th century Japan to life, and the absence of a quest compass and mini map really help me soak it all in.

              Second, is the Kurosawa mode. Absolutely stunning from an art and sound direction. Not only does it make the game look like a 1950s Japanese film with a black and white filter, but it adds film grain, amps up the wind direction, and it changes the audio quality to reflect the quality of audio of that time period. It also makes the game a little more difficult because it looks like it reduces UI as well.

              I went into this game mostly blind without following reviews or gameplay, so I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm excited to see the reduced quest guidance system. I think that idea has long outstayed its welcome in modern game design.

                That is my favorite feature of the game along with photo mode.

                Using the wind as your GPS instead of a blip or ping is just so much cleaner. It's innovative as hell and I think it's going to change the way some open world games do their HUD system

                  This game needs to add a groin punch and other sucker punches. I want to go full heel! I make no apologies for assassinating people from behind and using any bag in my arsenal. Giving me a tough time? Chew on a sticky bomb.

                    60 hours into the game now. Definitely getting at least a 9/10 on my scale but after what I just did the last two hours or so, it's getting closer to a 9.5/10 and my game of the year.

                    The only major negative I have is the camera especially during combat which seems to keep the focus on you but from an angle that doesn't allow you to see the enemy that you're facing.

                    I have a few other complaints but they're nitpicks and quality of life stuff that's missing compared to a few other open world games.

                      When it comes to video games and great soundtracks normally Nintendo games come to my mind but the soundtrack in this game is just to good. This games soundtrack is just killer.

                        Played last night with the intention of only doing a quest or two. Next thing I know it's 2 1/2 hours later. The game just makes it so easy to get immersed in the world. I don't fast travel just walk or ride the horse everywhere and take in the sights and slice up some Mongols.

                        I'm tempted to just turn the HUD off all together. Unless things change later in the game where it becomes necessary. Everything feels like it doesn't require you to even need it on. Having the wind/particles, birds and foxes be what guides you around the map is brilliant.

                          The wind, fox and bird setup is definitely original, unique and innovative but personally, I easily and by far prefer a setup where I can unlock an area/region of the map which in turns puts "?" on the map as points of interest and give me a waypoint. Swiping up on the touchpad is cool but once you start getting past the 10 hour mark, not so much.

                          I see AC Odyssey as what every open world should be. Start the game with either a "guided" or "exploration" mode while also giving you a massive amount of HUD options (20 in Odyssey) that allows you to turn every option on/off.

                          To me, that's what open world games should evolve into because this way, you can play exactly the way you want. I also believe that there should be individual options for the world map in open world games. Basically, an on/off option for what appears on the world map. Want it all off, then you should be able to do that.

                          For me, instead of trying to innovate navigation, take what's already there like in Odyssey and simply perfect it by giving everyone the option as to how they want to play with a bunch of on/off HUD options and future wise, by doing the same for the world map.

                          If there's a mini-map, then there should be a mini-map HUD options category that does the same as the HUD but is strictly for the mini-map.

                          For me personally, this would be evolving it all in simply the best way possible because everyone has the options to play how they want with any combination they so choose.

                            This is my game of the year, and its not close. I took a chance after being lukewarm at best since its first trailer years ago. I cant believe I almost skipped this.

                            Amazing top to bottom. Way more emotional than I anticipated.
